The Ford Torino was built from 1968-76.
The 1968-69 first generation was sold along side the Fairlane, it got a full width grille and quad headlights. The Torino, the upmarket model got full carpet and additional exterior and interior trim. The new fastback model (Ford called it the Sportsroof) produced great aerodynamics, great for the racetrack.
1969 was just a minor facelift on the 1968 model, the grille had a more prominent centre dividing bar, tail lights were squarer.
The standard Torino, with standard 6 cyl, was available as a 2 door hardtop, 4 door Sedan and Squire wagon.
The Torino GT, standard with 302 V8, higher trim level and non functional hood scoop, was available as 2 door hardtop, 2 door Sports Roof and Convertible.
The new Torino Cobra, introduced in 1969, the trim level was very basic and a plain blacked out grille, but came standard with the 428 Cobra Jet, competition suspension and 4 speed manual, it was available in 2 door Hardtop and 2 door Sports Roof.
