🖼️1970 MGB GT Mk II Coupe

The MG was introduced in 1923, a sporting division of Morris Motors. Morris merged with Austin in 1952 to form BMC (British Motor Corporation). Morris, Austin, Wolseley, Riley and MG. In 1966 merged with Jaguar and in 1968 with Leyland, becoming the British Leyland Motor Corporation.
In 1962 MG's 2 door sports car, the MGA was replaced by the MGB, it got a redesigned lighter body and new chassis, the MG handled better and had more room inside. In England the MGB was made from 1962-80, also assembled in Australia from 1963-72. 
1962; MGB, 2 seat Roadster, vertical bar chrome grille with central divider. Engine; 95hp 1798cc 4 cyl with twin SUs, 
1965; MGB GT Hardtop 2+2 Hatchback Coupe introduced
1967; MGB Mk II updated running gear
1967; MGC available from 1967-69, 145hp 2912cc Austin 6 cyl 
1970; new black aluminium vertical bar grille 
1971 saw a new front grille, recessed, in black aluminium.  
1973; new honeycomb grille, central divider returns
1973; MGB GT V8 available from 1973-76,  137hp 3528cc Rover V8
1974; Steel-reinforced black rubber bumpers, incorporated the grille 
1980; end of production for the MGB
