About 18 months ago I contemplated trading my 2005 Dodge Magnum for a new or newer car. I started searching, but I just could not bare getting rid of my wagon for a car that seemed to blend in with all the other cars out there. The only cars I found somewhat tempting would far exceed my willingness (and ability) to pay the difference from trading my Dodge in. I had flash backs to my college economics classes, The utils of satisfaction did not justify the additional expense. I also realized I was starting to sound like my Dad. For a couple of years Dad was searching for a replacement for his 1978 Dodge Diplomat station wagon. (another Dodge, V8, rear wheel drive (RWD), station wagon) He would have bought another one, but Chrysler Corporation had stopped making an M-Body station wagon. He did consider the Gran Fury, Diplomat or Fifth Avenues, but just could not switch back to the sedan. GM and Ford still built V8, RWD wagons, but Dad was not interested in them.
