<p>The Ford GT is an American mid-engine two-seater sports car . The GT recalls Ford's historically significant GT40, consecutive four-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (1966-1969), including a 1-2-3 finish in 1966. 
The first generation was built from 2004-06 powered by Ford's 5400cc Modular Supercharged V8 making 550hp, 4038 were made.
This, the second generation was introduced in 2017 powered by 3500cc twin supercharged Eco-boost V6 making 647hp. Underpinning the GT is a carbon fiber monocoque bolted to aluminum front and rear subframes covered in carbon fiber body panels.
This GT won its class at Le Mans is powered by a twin-turbo 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 engine, and is built around a chassis shared with the road car. That means it gets the same teardrop cabin, intricate air intakes and snub nose – but the active aerodynamics are gone, replaced with a proper racing body kit and rear wing.
