🚗️Firesweep

1957 - 1959 | 1st generation

The Chrysler Corporation, founded in 1925, expanded in 1928, establishing Plymouth and DeSoto brands, they also acquired Fargo Trucks and Dodge Brothers Motors and started selling vehicles under those names.
Desotos got the new forward look for 1957, looking even bigger, it got tall tail fins as well. Three models were carried over from the previous year and the new shorter 122 inch wheelbase Firesweep introduced. While the Firesweep featured DeSoto's signature tail fins, the front clip was based on the Dodge Coronet. It was available in 2 and 4 door Sportsman Hardtop or 4 door sedan and Wagon.
The longer 126inch wheelbase cars available were;
The base Firedome, available in; 2 and 4 door Sportsman Hardtops, Convertible, and 4 door Sedan.
The upmarket Fireflite was available in 2 or 4 door Sportsman Hardtop, Convertible and 4 door Sedan or Wagon.
The Adventurer 2 door Hardtop or Convertible, introduced in 1956, had a hi-output 345 cubic inch Hemi V8, dual exhausts and custom appointments and trim.
