By the time the cars returned to the Kandi Mall parking lot, the weather turned quite nice. The hardy drivers were rewarded with Cub Foods cookies and Viking Coca-Cola soft drinks for their valiant effort. Dull styling and a strange name kept most people away, even though they were cheaper than most of the competition.

    • While I was around the Italian rides, I had my first spotting of the new Fiat 500, a 500C (cabrio) in this case. It was nice to finally see one in the flesh. I might consider owning one of these, if they eventually bring the Abarth version over, as they’ve claimed. I saw another one, a hard top, this past week in old St Augustine. I liked the hard top better.   • 1976 Ford Capri Mk II 3.0 S
    • While Ford America called the Mustang its Pony car, Ford of Europe's Pony car was the Capri. The Capri got the same long hood, short deck styling, but no V8 of course. The European Ford Capri was built from 1968-86 Through three generations; The 1968-74 Mk I Capri, a facelift in 1972 This, the 1974-78 Mk II Capri was assembled in 3 countries; UK, Belgium and Germany. Ford chose to make the new car more suited to everyday driving, with a shorter bonnet, larger cabin and the adoption of a hatchback rear door. By the standards of the day the Mk II was a very well evolved vehicle with very few reliability issues. Although it was mechanically similar to the Mk I, the Mk II had a revised larger body and a more modern dashboard including a smaller steering wheel. The 2.0 L version of the Pinto was introduced in the European model, and was placed below the 3.0L V6, although it was more powerful. The Capri still maintained the large square headlights, which became the easiest way to distinguish between a Mk II and a Mk III. Engines; 1.3, 1.6, 1.6 GT and 2.0 litre 4 cyl. 2.3 V6 in Germany or 3.0 V6 in England In 1976, the 3.0 GT was replaced by either the 3.0 S or 3.0 Ghia The 1978-86 Mk III Capri got the quad round headlight front.

    • When I see an Ibiza out and about I don't get surprised at all, although getting scarce you cannot say that these are all extinct in Spain by any means. You still see them regularly here and there. But when it comes to London's city center where all you see is luxury supercars this is quite an achievement. Gotta love the single wiper.

    • Wheels don't go with this Ford Fiesta at all, in my opinion. Does anyone know what they're from? Sorry- not able to determine engine size/ spec level of this example. I don't think it's a basic one, as it had at one time a passenger side mirror. This example looked immaculate bodywise, and was a bit of a shock compared with most Greek cars! The wheeltrims hurt my eyes though!!!

I loved the look of this one- like it's ready to go on a safari (in Southern UK!) Looked remarkably original too, and hardtop examples seem to be much rarer. A.K.A Suzuki Jimny/ SJ410. Is this the &quot;panel van&quot;? There are just 19 10Vs left on the roads. 4 are 1986 models.     • What a beauty! This one looks as good as when it came out of the factory, which is a rare sight indeed for a car in Greece. Someone clearly really cherishes this car, the same cannot be said about other Audis of this vintage I've spotted here! It looks so original too, with those nice simple wheeltrims and everything present and correct. I'd love a car like this, and this one should fetch a good price, if the owner ever wants to sell it. Such a clear, aerodynamic design for the period. Can't tell the engine size or trim level, unfortunately, unless anyone else knows?

    • Well, this is one car I never expected to come across! These are ultra rare Alfa Romeos, the SZ and RZ. Not brilliant lookers IMO but they certainly cut a distinctive shape. Amazed a car as rare and interesting as this one was parked in a car park amongst all the ordinary day to day cars. They only built 1036 SZs, I wonder how many are in Britain? Strangely although this one's British registered, it was imported in 1997 and date of manufacture comes up as &quot;unavailable&quot;. 1989-91 though, for sure.
