| Description | This is some strange gray market version, as the 280SL was never officially available in the United States. Has the full federalized bumpers and headlights. I have actually seen a number of these on the East Coast (many with fewer concessions to US regulations), I guess it's a sensible car to import since the engine was already available in the W123 and so the emissions hurdles were easily surmounted. In East Hampton, NY, of course, and with an aging blonde lady at the wheel. |
