| Description | We were invited to take a look at the new Ferrari Roma, a mid-front-engined 2+ coupé. With a timeless design combined with the promise of unparalleled performance and handling, we were very excited to get behind the wheel and give you our verdict. Paul headed out to Bra, Italy to get hands on with this latest Grand Tourer from Ferrari. The Ferrari Roma really does catch the eye, but not in the usual way you would expect it to from the prestigious brand. When you think of Ferrari you would be excused for thinking sporty, cutting edge, aero and all the ingredients that make for an incredible supercar. But with the Roma, it shows off sleek lines, gentle brush strokes and ultimately just, elegance. Don’t be fooled in to thinking it is all show either, the Ferrari Roma sports the reknown 3.9l Twin Turbo V8, reworked slightly to produce 620hp and 760Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to the 8 speed dual clutch gearbox that was initially created for the SF90 Stradale, offering incredible shift times and an all-round pretty exhilarating experience. The Roma is also equipped with a 5 stage Manettino including Race mode, unlike the Portofino, giving it a more versatile breadth of capability, from gentle cruising to spirited driving, the Roma handles it all! The sound is somewhat unique to the rest of the Ferrari range. With ever increasing emission regulations, the introduction of OPFs and what not, all manufacturers are really struggling in this area to produce the exhaust sound we all love and crave for. That being said, the Roma still sounds superb!
