Select Compatibility Mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2 for all game .exe files (Scar.exe, Scar98ME.exe, starter.exe). Launch starter.exe. Turn off Audio Mixing Hardware. Turn off Reverbs (prevents sound artifacts). Set Voices to 64. If you can save a profile, but can't load it, then make sure you have Indexing Service on and the game folder is checked as indexed including file contents.
