    • The incredible BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage R Concept Car was unveiled at The Quail Motorsports Gathering in Carmel Valley, California during Monterey Car Week 2015. In 1975, the BMW 3.0 CSL took home the 1975 IMSA constructors championship for the German automaker. The 3.0 CSL Hommage R was built to commemorate the 40th anniversary of this victory. The Hommage R is finished in the same paint scheme as the 1975 victor. Although not confirmed at this moment, it is likely fitted with the same 3.0 twin turbocharged inline 6 cylinder found in the potent BMW M4.

    • The Honda e is probably the most fascinating EV without a Tesla badge. In fact it's probably more fascinating, because its design alone captured the attention and desire of legions of car enthusiasts who don't even bloody like electric cars. This 137 mile range Pokemon faced thing has a 35.5kWh battery pack which can be rapid charged in half an hour at 100kw. 0-62 takes 8.3 seconds with this 150hp launch edition car, but you will be able to option it with 134hp thereafter. On paper it almost loses in every respect to its plug-in peers, but there's a charm to the £27,000 e, and for some that's enough. Using the power of finance you'll be able to live with one from under £300 a month. Regardless of whether you give a toss about zero emission cars, there is no denying this kind of design is precisely what Honda does best. I hope they do more small, slightly-retro-but-not rear wheel drive cars in the near future. Oh, the power of dreams... Thanks for watching.     • The GTA is back. Yup, the legendary acronym GTA has returned on the the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA. It stands for Gran Turismo Alleggerita in which, crucially, Alleggerita means 'lightened'. It's a heavily modified version of Alfa Romeo's Giulia Quadrifoglio, already our favourite super saloon car. Think of the GTA as the equivalent of a Jaguar XE SV Project 8 or the BMW M4 GTS. Only 500 will be built and there are actually two variants, the GTA and the GTAm. This is the latter, which is even more hardcore than the GTA because it has a roll cage where the rear seats used to be, race front seats with six point harnesses and has had even more weight removed. At a claimed 1540kg it's a full 100kg lighter than the QF. Full technical specifications are below. The Giulia GTAm, says Alfa, is "a veritable supercar for everyday use". Is that so?   • This C2 Corvette Stingray Is A Sacred Monster
    • The Fourth of July may not be celebrated outside of the US, but an appreciation of American muscle knows no bounds; join us this week as we take a rumbly ride in Mathieu Houtreille’s crisp Ermine White 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray through the back roads surrounding Luxembourg, Belgium. Like many of us, Mathieu grew up under a gearhead’s roof. His father, Jean-Luc Houtreille, ensured he raised his son properly. “Ever since I learned to walk, my dad took me to all the car affairs,” Mathieu tells, “I would see the mechanics work under warm hoods, and the smell that emerged would captivate me.” A natural-born car-obsessed boy, where his father leaned towards the Italian marques, Mathieu differed, oddly falling for old American steel and iron. Mat says, “For me, the monsters that gave me goose bumps were the ones with massive V8s and a thunderous sound coming out of their tailpipes. That's what I loved.” Forever longing for Detroit muscle, a trip with his wife stateside sealed his fate with Corvettes. Referring to this excursion, Mat clarifies, “It is a country with a lot of wide-open spaces. It is magical, and you can't understand unless you've been there, and taken those roads, because you can't describe it [otherwise].” Learning of the ‘50s and ‘60s American car culture’s love of machine as well as its street racing scene, Mat realized this era was a special time that no longer exists, admitting that oftentimes, “If you tell people you hand-wash your car and you love your car, they will think you're dumb.” The sad truth is, most people view that mentality as outdated, but not Mathieu of course. Call it born in the wrong country in the wrong generation if you want, but we prefer to regard Mathieu’s passion a dying romance we’re happy to see still has a heart with a strong pulse. After wheeling a C3 for a while, his appreciation for the earlier C2 Stingray turned into an obsession. “I had to acquire one of those sacred monsters,” Mathieu says, determined, “my love for the C2 grew. With its perfect aesthetics, it is the epitome of the mid-‘60s.” After seeing a flawlessly restored C2 in the flesh at a Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas, Mat’s desire for his own Stingray only continued moving from want to need, and he was lucky enough to find an ad a few months later for an Ermine White 1965 model—his preferred color. With a friend accompanying him to see the car, they arrived to the seller’s town. “It smelled of dreams,” Mat says smiling, “It smelled so good.” The seller turned out to be an avid car collector with a multi-story garage full of classic goodies. “The door opened, and I saw cars everywhere.” Suppressing his excitement as to not get his hopes up too high for the Corvette in question, Mat smirks, “It was time for a test drive.” Too intimidated to drive the car initially, Mat turned down the seller’s offer and insisted on riding shotgun. A drive post-rainfall through forested roads at 110 miles per hour was all the conviction Mathieu really needed, but the step-off of the accelerator which summoned vicious backdraft pops and bangs was the final verdict: this was going to be the one.     • The Ford Thunderbird began life in February 1953 in direct response to Chevrolet's new sports car, the Corvette, which was publicly unveiled in prototype form just a month before. Under rapid development, the Thunderbird went from idea to prototype in about a year, being unveiled to the public at the Detroit Auto Show on February 20, 1954. Like the Corvette, the Thunderbird had a two-seat coupe/convertible layout. Production of the Thunderbird began later on in 1954 on September 9 with the car beginning sales as a 1955 model on October 22, 1954. Though sharing some design characteristics with other Fords of the time, such as single, circular headlamps and tail lamps and modest tailfins, the Thunderbird was sleeker and more athletic in shape, and had features like a hood scoop and a 150 mph (240 km/h) speedometer hinting a higher performance nature that other Fords didn't possess. Mechanically though, the Thunderbird could trace its roots to other mainstream Fords. The Thunderbird's 102.0 inches (2,591 mm) wheelbase frame was mostly a shortened version of that used in other Fords while the car's standard 292 cu in (4.8 L) Y-block V8 came from Ford's Mercury division.[5] Though inspired by, and positioned directly against, the Corvette, Ford billed the Thunderbird as a personal luxury car, putting a greater emphasis on the car's comfort and convenience features rather than its inherent sportiness.[5] Designations aside, the Thunderbird sold exceptionally well in its first year.     • The follow up to the Maserati Bora this mid engine supercar from 1978 is a pleasure to drive and to look at. With only 300 RHD models ever made this is a very rare car and an SS at that. At the time of build Maserati was owned by Citroen and the Merak made use of the Citroen SM V6 engine, transmission and power operated brakes. Widely recognised as one of the finest contemporary V6 engines the 220 BHP is delivered smoothly and urgently while the suspension and mid-engine lay out mean the cornering capability is hugely impressive even today and the ride quality is also surprisingly good. The Merak also offer ‘+2’ seating in the rear which adds to its versatility. With only 626 Merak SS models made this is a sound investment but a usable one too. The car has paperwork back to 1978 among its 5 owners and has a 12 month MOT after recent refurbishment work. In 2011 it had over £14,000 spent on it with world renowned Bill McGrath Ltd Why the Merak SS? Truly usable classic supercar.

Joining Sean, the owner of the private collection, let's go and take in the amazing way the cars are presented inside the Supercar Event Centre and some of the uniquely painted hypercars on show. Highlighted by two very bright Weissach Package Porsche 918 Spyders, we'll also see three Carrera GTs, 2 959s one of which is Gulf livery painted, plus a new McLaren Senna, Bugatti Veyron, super-rare Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet Exclusive Series and much more. However, it's not only the cars that are impressive but the nature of the space and how the are presented on top of pedestals with space around to give a real 'wow' effect and create an area for events to be held surrounding the fabulous machines.
