Der e-tron GT wird in zwei Leistungsvarianten mit 350 kW (476 PS) oder 440 kW (598 PS) lieferbar sein. Beide Antriebe verfügen über Allradantrieb und sorgen für beeindruckende Fahrleistungen. 93,4 kWh fasst die Batterie des e-tron GT, was laut Hersteller eine Reichweite von 487 km ermöglichen soll. Inzwischen ist Cupra eine eigenständige Marke für besonders sportliche Fahrzeuge. Erstes komplett eigenständiges Cupra-Modell ist der Formentor, ein aggressiv gestyltes viertüriges Kompakt-SUV. Auch wenn er mit dem durchgehenden Leuchtenband am Heck und dem markentypischen Grill einem Seat noch relativ ähnlichsieht, sorgt der Formentor mit vielen Design-Details in der Cupra-Hausfarbe Kupfer matt für eine ganz eigene Note. Neben den vorderen Bremssätteln und den Rändern der Lüftungsdüsen im Innenraum ist zum Beispiel auch der rote Bereich des Drehzahlmessers in diesem Farbton gehalten. Doch nicht nur der Look ist sportlich: Die Top-Version des Formentor wird von einem Vierzylinder-Motor mit Turbolader und Direkteinspritzung mit 310 PS und 400 Nm Drehmoment angetrieben. Wer es noch dynamischer mag, wird beim auf weltweit 7000 Exemplare limitierten Formentor VZ5 fündig. Der Sport-SUV hat einen Fünfzylinder von der Konzernschwester Audi mit 390 PS und 480 Nm Drehmoment unter der Haube. Wir haben den 540i xDrive als Limousine mit Mildhybrid getestet. In den aktuellen Modellen mit milder Hybridisierung werden die Verbrennungsmotoren von einem 48-Volt-Startergenerator unterstützt und mit einer zusätzlichen Batterie ergänzt, die beim Bremsen die gewonnene Energie speichert. Beim Beschleunigen und Anfahren sorgt der Startergenerator für einen elektrischen Boost. Sobald der Verbrenner zum Spritsparen in den Segelmodus übergeht, und sich abschaltet, übernimmt die Zusatzbatterie die Versorgung des Bordnetzes mit Strom. Fahrkomfort, Sicherheit und Assistenzsysteme sind im 540i xDrive fast über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Auch Leistung ist im Überfluss vorhanden. Dass nur rund 20% der 5er-Kunden Privatkäufer sind, könnte auch an den Anschaffungskosten liegen.     • Meet the most powerful S-Class ever - the all-new Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance! It’s the AMG version of Mercedes’s most luxurious limo, and it arrives with a whole load of upgrades over the standard S-Class! So let’s see what’s different. Starting with the design, there are a number of exterior changes to the regular car. Up front, the S63 comes equipped with an AMG grille (a first time for the S-Class) along with some bigger air intakes and carbon trim. Along the side, there are side skirts along with top-of-the-range forged wheels, and around the back, you’ll find quad tailpipes, a diffuser and some AMG badging. The changes don’t stop there, either! Step inside and the S63 is equipped with an AMG steering wheel, along with AMG badging throughout the cabin. The S63 also comes with a number of display updates, with AMG-specific dials available, along with performance and track pace data on the infotainment screen. The rest of the dash is also available in carbon fibre. The new S63 is the first available as a hybrid, and as a result, it delivers some serious power! Not only is it equipped with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, but there’s an electric motor mounted to the rear axel! They work together to put down an eye-watering 802hp and 1,430Nm! This is enough to propel the S63 to 60mph in just 3.3 seconds! We don’t have the price yet, but you can bet it’ll be pricey! The question is, how much would you be willing to pay for one?     • Meet the most luxurious, hi-tech cars BMW has ever released - the new BMW 7 Series & BMW i7! Mat’s flown over to America to get his hands on these two luxurious limos to give them a full-blown, proper in-depth review! Let’s start with a look at the design. One thing’s for sure, from the back and the side, there’s no hiding that this is clearly a 7 Series. Sure there have been a few design upgrades over the previous generation, but the side and rear profile are quite clearly in the traditional 7 Series mold. But of course, it’s up top where things get interesting, with an absolutely massive double kidney grille that dominates the front end. Combine this with the split headlight design on either side, and you've got yourself one car that will definitely turn heads! Once you step inside, you are treated to a cabin absolutely full of high-quality materials, including leather & carbon on the dash, soft-touch felt on the roof, and super comfortable cashmere seats. You’ll also find the same swooping infotainment screen as in the new iX. But of course, the main feature of this interior is the huge 31-inch 8K cinema screen in the back! This thing is absolutely insane, and when you combine it with the ability to fully recline the seats in the back, there’s no denying that this is pretty much the best bit of technology we’ve got our hands on in any car… EVER! When it comes to performance, the range-topping BMW i7 60 comes with two electric motors to deliver 544hp and 745Nm of torque. It comes with a 102kWh battery pack that’s good for a claimed range of 388 miles. As for the BMW 7 Series, it comes with a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that delivers an almost identical 544hp and 750Nm. As for the price, the 7 Series starts at £102,000, while the i7 starts at £108,000. But are they both worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat to see for yourself! The Solus GT has arrived as a surprise to the world after being discretely known as BC-08 in recent years during the development. It's unlike any McLaren to date in so many ways but will offer an absolutely extreme race track only driving experience.     • Lotus Exige Sport 380 - COLD START & REVS, Full In-depth Interior and Exterior Walkaround Tour. The Lotus Exige /ɛɡˈziːʒ/ is a British two-door, two-seat sports car made by Lotus Cars since 2000. Originally a more-hardcore coupé version of the Lotus Elise roadster, since the Series 3 the Exige has been the larger-engined model of the family - using a V6 engine in place of the Elise's straight 4 with convertible versions of both available. At the Frankfurt 2011 autoshow, the 2012 version of the Exige S was announced. It includes a supercharged 3.5 litre V6 engine (from the Evora S) rated at 345 hp (257 kW; 350 PS). In 2013 a roadster version was introduced with only minor changes to the design for the removable top. The engine and performance were virtually unchanged from the coupe and the price for both the roadster and the coupe were the same. To accommodate the V6 engine, the new model is approximately 25 cm (9.8 inches) longer and 5 cm (2.0 in) wider (exterior bodywise) than the model with the inline-four engine, being 4,052 mm (159.5 inches) long, 1,802 mm (70.9 in) wide (not counting the mirrors) and 1,153 mm (45.4 in) tall. The drag coefficient is 0.433. The Exige V6 Cup is a track oriented version of the Exige S while the Exige CupR is the track-only version of Exige V6 Cup. The Exige V6 Cup is offered for sale in the United States as a track only car. If purchased, US Lotus Dealers will only provide a bill of sale instead of a title. The vehicles were unveiled at the 2013 Autosport International motor show. Limited to 50 examples, Lotus Exige 360 Cup was revealed on 14 August 2015. The car is powered by a 3.5-litre supercharged Toyota V6 delivering 355 hp (360 PS; 265 kW) . The Lotus Exige Sport 380 is a track focused and more powerful version of the Lotus Exige lineup. It was unveiled on 23 November 2016. Lotus' CEO, Jean-Marc Gales describes it as, "The Exige Sport 380 is so good, that it is no longer the best in class, it’s now in a class of its own", and it fulfills this statement by taking on some of the powerful and expensive super cars both on the track and the streets. The 3.5-litre, super-charged V6 engine is now uprated and produces 375 hp (380 PS; 280 kW) and 410 N⋅m (302 lb⋅ft) of torque with a 6500 rpm red line achieved by revised supercharger and ECU. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 178 mph (286 km/h). The interior is also stripped out and features necessary driver aids. The Exige Sport 380 weighs 1,076 kg (2,372 lb), thanks to the extensive use of carbon fibre on the exterior as well as the interior, the application of polycarbonate windows instead of traditional glass windows and a newly designed rear transom panel which features two rear lights instead of four. The Lotus Exige Cup 380 is a more hardcore variant of the Exige Sport 380. Performance of the car remains the same as the Sport 380 but it features more aero components and a larger rear wing to produce more downforce at high speeds. The Exige Cup 380 generates 200 kg (441 lb) of downforce at its maximum speed of 175 mph (282 km/h); the top speed is reduced due to excess downforce and more drag. It features a more stripped out interior in order to save weight and other light weight carbon fibre components, Lotus states a lowest possible dry weight of only 1,057 kg (2,330 lb). On 9 November 2017, Lotus unveiled the most powerful version of the Exige to date called the Exige Cup 430, producing 430 PS (424 hp; 316 kW) and using the Evora GT430's powertrain, modified to fit in the smaller Exige. The car body can produce 220 kg (485 lb) of downforce. The Cup 430 is 19 kg (42 lb) lighter than the Sport 380 due to the use of carbon fibre in body panels and interior and a titanium exhaust. The gearbox allows quicker gearshifts than the previous model. The Cup 430 is not offered with an automatic gearbox. The Lotus Exige Cup 430 is capable of covering the Hethel circuit in 1 minute 24.8 seconds – the fastest production car to lap the circuit – 1.2 seconds faster than the road going Lotus 3-Eleven. Several Exiges are currently in use in the SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge. An Exige GT3 and some CUP Exige race in the Supercar Challenge. An Exige has participated in the GT300 class of the 2005 Super GT Series season. Simply Sports Cars in Australia ran an Exige Cup R in endurance racing during 2014 and 2015 at the world renowned Bathurst 12 Hour, with class wins on both occasions.

    • Lotus Elise Cup 250 - Cold Start & Revs, Full In-depth Interior and Exterior Walkaround. The Lotus Elise is a two-seat, rear-wheel drive, mid-engined roadster conceived in early 1994 and released in September 1996 by the British manufacturer Lotus Cars. The Elise has a fibreglass body shell atop its bonded extruded aluminium chassis that provides a rigid platform for the suspension, while keeping weight and production costs to a minimum. It is capable of speeds up to 240 km/h (150 mph). The Elise was named after Elisa, the granddaughter of Romano Artioli who was chairman of Lotus and Bugatti at the time of the car's launch. In February 2010, Lotus unveiled a facelifted version of the second generation Elise. The new headlights are now single units; triangular in shape they are somewhat larger than the earlier lights. The cheapest version in Europe had a 1.6 litre engine to comply with Euro 5 emissions, with the same power output as the earlier 1.8 136 PS (100 kW; 134 hp). The 1.8 litre Elise comes standard with a Magnuson R900 supercharger making 220 PS (162 kW; 217 hp). The 1.6 litre version was discontinued in 2018. The 2011 model was the last offered for street legal sale in the United States when the waiver from the United States Government's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for Lotus to build and sell cars in the US without smart airbags expired in August 2011. It was also the only Elise to use the Toyota 2ZZ-GE engine in the 2011 model year. At the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Lotus revealed a high performance version of the Elise called the Cup 220. The Cup 220 is a more track focused and hardcore version of the standard Elise. It has the following specifications according to a 2015 Top Gear road test: Engine: 1.8 litre supercharged Toyota 2ZR-FE Inline-4 Transmission: 6-speed Toyota EC60 manual with sport ratios Power: 217 bhp (162 kW; 220 PS) at 6800 rpm Torque: 250 N⋅m (184 lb⋅ft) at 4600 rpm Acceleration: 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.2 seconds Top speed: 140 mph (225 km/h) Weight: 932 kg (2,055 lb) (dry weight) Downforce: 125 kg (276 lb) at 140 mph (225 km/h) At the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, Lotus revealed the high performance version of the Elise called the Cup 250. The Cup 250 is a more track focused and hardcore version of the standard Elise. It has the following specifications according to Lotus: Engine: 1.8 litre supercharged Toyota 2ZR-FE Inline-4 Transmission: 6-speed Toyota EC60 manual with sport ratios Power: 243 bhp (181 kW; 246 PS) at 7200 rpm Torque: 250 N⋅m (184 lb⋅ft) at 5500 rpm Acceleration: 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.9 seconds Top speed: 154 mph (248 km/h) Weight: 884 kg (1,949 lb) (dry weight) Downforce: 125 kg (276 lb) at 140 mph (225 km/h) In October 2017, Lotus unveiled a hardcore version of the Elise called the Elise cup 260. It is inspired by the two hardcore variants of the Evora and Exige line up, the sport 380 and the GT430 respectively. It features the double taillight units and rear wing from the Exige Sport 380 and the Lotus 3-Eleven respectively. Power has also been uprated and is now 250 hp (186 kW; 253 PS) thanks to a revised supercharger. Other changes include increased top speed, acceleration, low weight and high downforce due to added aero elements. The Elise Cup 260 has the following specifications according to Lotus: Engine: 1.8 litre supercharged Toyota 2ZR-FE Inline-4 Transmission: 6-speed Toyota EC60 manual with sport ratios Power: 250 bhp (186 kW; 253 PS) at 7200 rpm Torque: 265 N⋅m (195 lb⋅ft) at 5500 rpm Acceleration: 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.8 seconds Top speed: 151 mph (243 km/h) Weight: 862 kg (1,900 lb) (dry weight) Downforce: 180 kg (397 lb) at 151 mph (243 km/h) In March 2017, Lotus announced the special edition 'Sprint' models of the Elise. For the Elise Sprint, Lotus used several weight-saving techniques to cut the car's weight down to 798 kg (1,759 lb). To achieve the 40kg weight saving, some body parts are made in carbon, as well as the seats. The backlight glass is made of polycarbonate, and the lightweight battery is a Lithium-ion model. Wheels are the usual size, but forged instead of cast alloy. The Sprint can be had with either a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine, or a 1.8-litre supercharged engine, available for the Sprint 220 version. The former has a 0-60 mph (97 km/h) time of 5.9 seconds, while the Sprint 220 can accelerate from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.1 seconds. Dampers are uprated, as on the Elise Cup models. The series 3 Lotus Elise first appeared as a design study alongside the Lotus Esprit concept at the 2010 Paris Motor Show as the "Lotus Elise Concept" in the autumn of that year, and was set to be launched within the next couple of years. The car was heavier than the production model of that time, and had a considerably more powerful 2.0-litre inline-4 engine. The production model was then unveiled with many changes, including the downsizing of the engine to 1.6 litre and 1.8 litre (supercharged).

Mat’s got his hands on this all-new sports car to see if it can compete with class-leading competitors like the Porsche Cayman GTS. So naturally, with it being a sports car, we need to check out the performance. The Emira will come with two engine choices, and the one we have here is a 3.5-litre supercharged V6 that’s produced by Toyota and is good for 400hp and 420Nm of torque. It powers the rear wheels along with a 6-speed manual gearbox and is good for a top speed of 180mph. Later on this year, you’ll also be able to get your hands on an Emira powered by the same engine you’ll find in the AMG A45 S - a 2-litre turbocharged 4 cylinder! However, Mercedes has turned down the power output on it, so as a result it only produces 360hp & 430Nm. However, although it’s still RWD, it’ll also roll up with an automatic gearbox! Elsewhere, there’s no denying that the Emira is a really classy car. From the outside, it looks super-sleek and is covered with vents (and they all serve a purpose!), and it even comes with real exhaust tips at the back! And once you step inside, the interior quality can easily match what you’ll find in a Porsche, with leather & high-quality materials throughout, along with a good-sized infotainment screen. The starting price is just £60,000, so surely this is the must-have sports car of 2022, right?! You’ll have to stick with Mat to see for yourself!
