  • BMW E30 333i ENGINE SOUND - Startup, Revving and Accelerations!
    • Last week, I had the chance to participate in the Creme21 Youngtimer Rallye. Thanks to BMW Classic, I drove this BMW E30 333i. A wonderful car with a glorious sound. I tried to quickly make a little soundclip to share with you guys as I can imagine there's not a lot of soundclips of the 333i. It wasn't easy to do this during the rallye, but I hope you like it anyway. At the end of the video there's some bonus in-car accelerations, where something went wrong with the sound. It seems like it went a little crazy over the GPS signal of the tripmaster or mobile phone. For those who don't know about the car, here's some facts: BMW E30 333i -Made for the South African market only (so only RHD) -204 cars were made -3.2 litre M30B32 engine with Alpina intake -197hp -Getrag (Dogleg) 5-speed manual gearbox -25% LSD -Alpina suspension with Bilstein dampers -0-100km/h takes 7.3 seconds -Top speed of 228 km/h

  • Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG 004C Race Car in action at Monza Circuit!
    • Last week in Monza I recorded the brand new Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus weapon for the 2020 Nürburgring 24 hours and the VLN/NLS series, where it will be raced in the SPX-class but in the future it will receive the GT3-class homologation (No, this is not the Le Mans Hypercar-class car which is called 007 and it's yet to be completed). I saw this car doing the first shakedown on track last February, before the Italian lockdown, and this was the second proper test the car did after a 30 hours endurance session at Aragon months ago. As for the SGC 003C, the new 004C is developed in partnership with Podium Advanced Technologies. It is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 developed by Autotecnica Motori from a GM LT4 pushrod engine.     • Last week I was lucky enough to record this camouflaged Lamborghini Huracan GT3 testing at Monza Circuit some new front aero components and bumper. I'm not surprised by this thing because the current Lambo GT3 racer hasn't been updated and improved since its unveil in 2015.     • Last week during a test organized by Kateyama at Monza Circuit I recorded three new Audi RS3 LMS cars, one from the italian Bolza Corse team and two from Comtoyou Racing. The car was unveiled last year as a replacement of the previous 2017 RS3 LMS and it's based on the road-legal Typ 8Y RS3 Sedan. Being developed and modified to comply with TCR Series regulations means that, unfortunately, its 2.5-litre 5-cylinder engine has been replaced by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, which is able to produce around 340 hp at 6250 rpm and 460 Nm of torque at 2500 rpm.     • Lamborghini Squadra Corse presents the SC20, a unique specimen of an open-top track car type-approved for road use. The SC20 is the second one-off engineered by the motorsport department and designed by Centro Stile in Sant’Agata Bolognese: the car was created following the customer’s wishes, who was involved in the project from the very first drawings by Lamborghini’s designers. The common goal was to build a unique vehicle, extreme in its design and performance, and able to combine aerodynamic solutions taken from racing Lamborghinis incorporating unprecedented lines and exclusive details. “Two years after the SC18 Alston, the SC20 was a new, intriguing challenge. The chief sources of inspiration were the Diablo VT Roadster, Aventador J, Veneno Roadster and Concept S, and the result is a dramatic combination of creativity and racing attitude,” commented Mitja Borkert, Head of Design Lamborghini Centro Stile. The carbon fiber body was polished and slicked down by hand by the Lamborghini aerodynamic engineers to deliver optimal airflow for both performance and the cockpit’s occupants, ensuring comfortable open-air driving even at high speeds. The pronounced front splitter is framed by two fins and the air intakes on the front hood are inspired by those of the Huracán GT3 EVO, while the sculpted body sides reflect the solutions adopted on the Essenza SCV12. The muscular rear is topped by a large carbon fiber wing that can be set in three different positions: Low, Medium and High Load.

  • Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 testing at Monza: Starts, Pit Limiter, Downshifts & Pure V10 Sound!
    • Lamborghini is yet another manufaturer that has updated its GT3-class weapon ahead of the 2023 season and of course for the upcoming LMGT3-class of the FIA WEC from 2024. The Huracán GT3 has reached its third generation with an interesting upgrade package (called 'EVO2'), always developed by Lamborghini Squadra Corse. The main aesthetic characteristics that distinguish the EVO2 from the previous GT3 EVO are for sure the new airscoop and rear fin, taken from the Huracán Super Trofeo race cars. The scoop was introduced to contribute to greater efficiency of the intake system and it's connected to a snorkel which optimally channels the airflow directly into the engine. This also allowed to remove the two side air vents on the upper part of the GT3 EVO body and reshape it for better air flow to the rear wing. Other visible changes have been made to the rear diffuser, there's a new front splitter and new front and rear bumpers with design elements that refer to the Huracán STO model. The engine is still the reliable 5.2-litre V10 unit which has been further improved with the introduction of 10 electronically actuated throttle bodies that boost the efficiency of the titanium-valved V10. I also noticed that some work has been done on engine mapping since the EVO2 has more explosive upshifts plus a crackling overrun with more aggressive downshifts compared to the previous EVO generation (you can also spots some little flames from the exhaust on downshifts). So happy that the GT3 EVO's distinctive whistle generated by some body parts at higher speed has remained on the EVO2. Gli elementi aerodinamici, come il fondo e l'ala posteriore, sono stati sviluppati in galleria del vento per ottimizzare le prestazioni della vettura. I fari caratteristici con luci a LED a forma di Y enfatizzano il design deciso della vettura e offrono un'illuminazione ideale durante le gare notturne grazie ai moduli laser. La livrea della vettura presenta una combinazione di colori iconici come il Verde Mantis, il Nero Noctis, il Bianco Alpi e il Rosso Sangue. Il motore della SC63 è un V8 da 3,8 litri sovralimentato con due turbocompressori e wastegate elettroniche. È in grado di sviluppare una potenza massima di 680 CV (500 kW). La vettura ha una struttura portante e utilizza un sistema di lubrificazione a carter secco. La trasmissione è posteriore a trazione e il cambio è un cambio trasversale a 7 marce XTRAC. La carrozzeria della SC63 è realizzata in fibra di carbonio per garantire leggerezza e resistenza. Il telaio è una monoscocca in fibra di carbonio sviluppata in collaborazione con Ligier. La vettura ha superato l'omologazione LMDh per garantire la massima sicurezza nelle competizioni. Le sospensioni della SC63 presentano un layout di tipo push-rod e utilizzano molle a torsione. La geometria delle sospensioni consente la regolazione della posizione dei bracci oscillanti, mentre la barra antirollio è regolabile dall'abitacolo. Lo sterzo è dotato di servosterzo elettrico per una migliore maneggevolezza. Le dimensioni della vettura includono una lunghezza di 5100 mm, una larghezza anteriore di 1650 mm, una larghezza posteriore di 1614 mm, un'altezza di 1170 mm e un passo di 3148 mm. La massa a secco della vettura è di 1030 kg, secondo le specifiche tecniche. La Lamborghini SC63 rappresenta un importante traguardo per Lamborghini Squadra Corse, portando l'innovazione dell'elettrificazione e dell'ibridazione nel mondo delle corse automobilistiche.     • Kraftstoffverbrauch (kombiniert): 10,6 l/100 km; CO2-Emissionen: 252 g/km; Effizienzklasse: G* --- Wer einen Jaguar F-Type haben möchte, der muss nicht all zu tief in die Tasche greifen. Zumindest, wenn man sich mit der Basisversion begnügt. Wir zeigen euch heute unseren brandneuen Vorführwagen, den Jaguar F-TYPE P450 als Cabriolet in der First Edition. Da ist das Ganze dann schon etwas kostspieliger, aber für das, was man bekommt, immer noch ein sehr fairer Preis. Gut, jetzt soll es aber endlich auf die Straße gehen, denn der Preis ist bei weitem nicht das Einzige, was der Jaguar F-Type so zu bieten hat. Beispiel Absatz 2: Seit 1982 wird der erfolgreiche Kleinwagen gebaut und erscheint 2019 in seiner 6. Generation. Erstmals auch als rein elektrisches Fahrzeug. Die im Unterboden verbaute Batterie mit 50 kWh ermöglicht laut WLTP eine solide Reichweite von bis zu 330 km. Als Nachfolger des legendären E-Type war der F-Type 2013 ein revolutionäres Modell der britischen Traditionsmarke. Mit seinem zweiten Facelift nach nunmehr sieben Jahren hauchen die Engländer ihm etwas frischen Wind ein. Dafür gibt es z.B. schmale LED-Scheinwerfer an der breiter gestalteten Front, sowie die modernere Grafik der Rückleuchten. Man, dieses Auto macht tierisch viel Spaß! Jaguar baut das Cockpit, über das ich euch später noch mehr erzähle, gut um den Fahrer herum und somit fühlt man sich hier wirklich wie im Zentrum der Maschine. Apropos Maschine…unter der langen Haube arbeitet ein 5 Liter V8 Kompressor mit 450 PS. Die 6-Zylinder sind nicht mehr zu haben – ab jetzt heißt es: 4-Zylinder mit 300 PS, 8 Zylinder mit 450 PS, oder der F-Type R mit 8 Zylindern und 575 PS. Egal für welche Variante man sich nun entscheidet: in schnell durchfahrenen Kurven kommt das Torque Vectoring zum Einsatz. Es bremst die kurveninneren Räder kontrolliert ab und verteilt mehr Drehmoment auf die kurvenäußeren Räder. Der F-Type P450 beschleunigt in 4,6 Sekunden von Null auf Einhundert und erreicht in der Sitze 285 km/h. Im Stand kann man sich besser auf den Innenraum konzentrieren. Im Vergleich zum Vorgänger hat sich hier einiges getan, was es zu entdecken gibt. Hinter dem Lenkrad empfängt uns ein volldigitales Instrumentendisplay, bei dem ich frei wählen kann, ob ich jetzt z.B. den Drehzahlmesser in der Mitte, eine klassische Ansicht mit zwei Rundinstrumenten Links und Rechts, oder aber die Navigationskarte in der Vollbildansicht haben möchte. Das steht dem F Type richtig gut! Die Klappenauspuffanlage ist beim P450 serienmäßig an Bord und klingt…naja was soll man noch sagen…einfach nur herrlich! Im Cabrio, dessen Verdeck auch während der Fahrt öffnet und schließt, kann man es so schon aushalten auf den Straßen rund um unser Autohaus in Weiterstadt. Und das ist auch das wichtigste für so einen Sportwagen. Man soll das Fahren genießen können. Jaguar macht den F-Type mit dem Facelift noch ein Stückchen besser und im Innenraum vor allem digitaler. Ob es nun ein 8-Zylinder sein muss, oder vielleicht auch der kleine Vierzylinder reicht, muss jeder für sich selbst entscheiden. Am besten macht ihr euch eigenes Bild bei eurer Probefahrt.
