    • The 500 Superfast was a sports car built by Ferrari from 1964 to 1966 in two series. Shown to the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 1964, was the latest model Ferrari built in extremely limited for selected customers. In fact, the plants of the car manufacturer from Maranello were increasingly converting to the production line. Were built 36 aircraft, plus a 330 GT 2 + 2 with the body design of the 500 Superamerica, delivered to Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands. Other famous buyers of this expensive model (its price was double that of a Rolls-Royce) were Peter Sellers and Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. The first series were built 25 units, while the second, which appeared in 1966, they were manufactured 12. The car's design was derived from that of the 400 Superamerica, and was designed by Pininfarina. The model had spoked wheels, though at the time Ferrari had already started to mount light alloy rims. It was available in both left-hand drive and right. With this configuration were produced eight copies. The number "500" in the model designation recalled the total displacement of the engine, which was 5 liters, and not one single. In general, in fact, Ferrari called his cars referring to the latter. This engine was designed and manufactured specifically for the 500 Superfast. Stemmed from marginally engines "long block" designed by Aurelio Lampredi, of which he shared only the distance between the axes of the cylinders. In fact, the engine originally drew especially those Gioacchino Colombo to "short block". The engine was a V12 at 60 °, front, longitudinal, and with a displacement of 4962.96 cc. The bore and stroke were respectively 88 mm and 68 mm, while the compression ratio was 8.8: 1. The maximum power output was 400 hp at 6500 rpm. The distribution was SOHC per bank of cylinders, with two valves for each of them. The power was supplied by three twin-choke carburettors Weber brand and model 40 DCZ / 6. The ignition was single and was formed by two coils with the distributors placed in the rear of the engine and two coils; the candles were placed on the outside of the "V" of the cylinders. Lubrication was wet sump. The frame was tubular steel, while the body was two-seat coupe. The front suspension was independent with wishbones and stabilizer bar. Rear ones were formed by a rigid axle with leaf springs and two longitudinal struts. Both were equipped with telescopic shock absorbers and coil springs, the latter coaxial shock absorbers on the same rear suspension. The brakes were disc, while the steering was worm and sector gear. In the first series the transmission was made up of a gearbox 4 synchromesh and the fifth with overdrive, while the second was provided a system 5-speed, always synchronized. When there was the change from four to five reports, there was also a shift from a single plate clutch operated mechanically to a hydraulically governed. The maximum speed reached by the model was 280 km/h.

    • The all-new BMW iX M60 is the first M Performance variant of BMW’s electric SUV but, more importantly, it’s the first ever M Division product to use the brand’s all-electric architecture. The only other electric M Performance product is the i4 M50 but that uses a modified CLAR platform. The iX sits on a bespoke electric platform, which is a first for the M Division, who does the tuning work on M Performance products. Being an M Performance variant, the BMW iX M60 is obviously quite a bit more power, packing an M5-rivaling 610 horsepower and a planet-churning 811 lb-ft (1,100 Nm) of torque. Admittedly, both of those figures are only available for a short period of time, when Launch Control is engaged. Otherwise, under all normal circumstances, the BMW iX M60 makes 532 horsepower and 749 lb-ft (1,016 Nm). However, during launch control the iX M60 is capable of 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds. Top speed is electronically-limited to 155 mph, like most other BMWs. Pricing in the US market will start at $105,100, plus $995 destination fee. That makes it almost exactly the same price as the standard BMW X5 M. With 610 horsepower, 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds, and an all-electric powertrain, the BMW iX M60 is shaping up to be one of BMW’s best performance SUVs. Discover all things BMW before anyone else! I stop over at a chateau to walk around the DS 4. My test car is a 'La Première' version, which has a “1” badge at the front. Color is Lacquered Gray with a gloss black roof. The 180 horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine is paired with a 110 horsepower electric motor integrated into the 8-speed automatic gearbox, providing 225 cumulative horsepower. The DS MATRIX LED VISION projector headlights include Matrix Beam and Dynamic Bending Light (lighting that adapts when turning into corners). In the back there's the laser-cut rear lights, looking very futuristic. When we take a look at the profile, it sits on huge 20" rims and it has fancy retracting door handles. The DS 4 is partly coupe, hatchback and crossover, it is taller and longer than the latest models on the same platform, such as the Peugeot 308 and the Opel Astra. It is also more expensive and more luxurious.   • Driving the A110 R: Alpine's Most Hardcore A110 | Henry Catchpole - The Driver's Seat
    • The Alpine A110 R is billed as the ultimate version of the featherweight French sportscar. But after driving it, Henry Catchpole began wondering what the R in its name might stand for. After pondering a few possibilities, he finally hit upon the answer, which doesn’t lie with the Alpine F1 team as you might expect but rather with the greatest hot hatch of all time. A quick look at the Alpine A110 R’s numbers could also have you questioning why it commands such a price premium over the original and S variants of the A110; It has no more power than the A110 S and the weight savings are a relatively minimal 34kg or 75lb. But dig a little deeper and it’s clear why the R very much deserves its top billing. For a start, the weight saving has been hard-won and strategic. For example, the standard buckets were an already trim 13.1kg (28lb 14oz) each, but the R has managed to shave another 2.5kg (5lb 8oz) off that figure. The carbon fibre wheels by Duqueine might give you sleepless nights if you have to park next to high kerbs on a frequent basis, but they do save an impressive 12.5kg (27lb) of unsprung, rotating mass. This means that the unchanged 296bhp and 251lb ft has just 1082kg (2385lb) to push around. Combined with Michelin Cup 2 tyres, this sees the 0-62mph time drop to just 3.9sec, so the R is no slouch in a straight line. However, it’s in the corners where it comes alive: New springs from Eibach, 20-way adjustable dampers from ZF and bump stops by BASF all combine to create magic in the ride and handling department.
