So guys welcome back to Remove Before Race, and to what is our first time having a new Porsche close to its world premiere release! It’s the chopped top version of a car that has struck fear into the hearts of super and hyper car owners in every generation, and this ballistic new 911 Turbo S now takes things to the next level. The history of the 911 Turbo is vast and intriguing, It’s a car that’s not only been revamped 7 times over the last 40 years but has cemented itself as a pop culture icon, and thus next month on RBR I’ll be doing a full review of the Turbo S Coupé where we will delve into the history and impact of the car! But you don’t need all that with the cabriolet. What you do need to know, is what’s changed in the 992 Turbo vs the previous 991.2 Turbo S, and what removing the roof adds or detracts from the experience while driving it as intended! So we will compare it both to the 991.2 Turbo S Cab, and in part to the coupe!That previous car was already fast: 572BHP, 700NM, 2.9 secs! That was conservative official figures too. Now power wise that’s beyond GT3, and in terms of speed it’s already nipping at the heals of things with the prefix hyper. So where does one go from here? Naturally, customer feedback! Dr Walliser of 911 model lines, said feed back was that the previous car was an ultra-fast cruiser, but purists to optted for the GTS or GT3. So his team has worked hard to make the new Turbo S more appealing as a driver’s car. And it’s a beast this new 992 Turbo Cabriolet! 650PS, 800NM and 0-60 in 2.8 seconds!! Now 0-200 is a whole second quicker than before, and these are simply hypercar speeds! For the first time an upgraded sports exhaust and sports suspension are offered too. The new Engine is based on 991 generation, but deemed as whole new. I’ll dissect it in our usual RBR style, to show you wants changed and what’s shared with GT2 RS! Will the changes be enough to remove the old assumption of a fast but frankly soulless car? The new car, which takes its name, Portofino, from one of the most charming villages on the Italian Riviera, an eponym for stylish elegance, is the most versatile model in the range. A Ferrari designed to be driven every day that also effortlessly converts from an authentic ‘berlinetta’ coupé to a drop-top capable of delivering a unique Ferrari soundtrack and superb driving pleasure even in day-to-day situations. The retractable hard top (RHT) has been completely redesigned and can now be opened or closed in just 14 seconds on the move at lower speeds, making the car even more practical. Careful modelling of the RHT housing now allows the luggage compartment to hold two cabin trolleys with the roof down and three with the roof up. Ideal for any occasion, the Ferrari Portofino represents the perfect combination of design, performance and technology. The Ferrari Portofino is significantly lighter with the adoption of new components featuring innovative designs made possible by the use of cutting-edge production techniques. This, combined with a 40 cv higher power output than the California T, has resulted in a significant hike in performance and a corresponding drop in emissions. Vehicle dynamics benefit from the introduction, for the first time on this model, of electric power steering, the 3rd generation electronic differential (E-Diff3) and the latest evolution of the electronic suspension control system (SCM-E) integrated with Premium 9.1 ESP. FERRARI POROTFINO ENGINE Starting with the V8 power unit, which has won the outright International Engine of the Year award for two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017, Ferrari’s engineers worked on several different fronts to deliver a power output of 600 hp at 7500 rpm, the equivalent of 156 cv/l, introducing new mechanical components as well as specific engine management software. The Portofino’s engine continues Ferrari’s zero turbo lag tradition, with instantaneous throttle response in under 1 second. The Ferrari Portofino features Variable Boost Management, a control software developed by Ferrari that adjusts torque delivery to suit the gear selected. As the car goes up through the gears (from 3rd to 7th), the amount of torque delivered by the engine increases all the way up to 760 Nm. This has allowed the Ferrari Portofino to adopt longer gear ratios in the higher gears, which helps keep fuel consumption and emissions down on the one hand, while adopting different torque curves through the rev range in the lower gears for a feeling of strong, continuous pick-up. In line with long-standing Ferrari tradition, every single Prancing Horse engine has its own particular soundtrack that makes it unique. This is also true of the Ferrari Portofino. Aside from a new exhaust line, electronically-controlled by-pass valves have been adopted in a first for Ferrari, delivering improvements in actuation speed and precision.     • 2018 Audi R8 Spyder V10 RWS - Drive, Interior and Exterior. The V10 mid-mounted engine of the Audi R8 V10 RWS delivers 397 kW (540 hp). It delivers its maximum torque of 540 Nm (398.3 lb-ft) at 6,500 revolutions per minute. The 5.2 FSI engine accelerates the Coupé from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 3.7 seconds (Spyder: 3.8 seconds) and reaches a top speed of 320 km/h (198.8 mph) (Spyder: 318 km/h [197.6 mph]). The new Audi R8 Coupe V10 RWS weighs 1,590 kilograms (3,505.3 lb) (curb weight without driver). That is 50 kilograms (110.2 lb) less than the Audi R8 Coupe V10 with quattro drive, which needs additional components compared to the rear-wheel drive variant, such as a cardan shaft, multi-plate clutch and front-axle differential. The R8 Spyder V10 RWS is 40 kilograms (88.2 lb) lighter than the R8 Spyder V10, tipping the scales at 1,680 kilograms (3703.8 lb) (curb weight without driver). The axle load distribution of 40.6:59.4 (Coupé) or 40.4:59.6 (Spyder), and a suspension and dynamic handling system specially adapted to the rear-wheel drive, ensure tremendous driving pleasure. The suspension setup and the control systems enable controlled drifts. To perform these maneuvers, the driver selects “dynamic” in the Audi drive select dynamic handling system, which is fitted as standard, and activates ESC sport mode. When the limit is reached, the ESC stability control will engage safely. The electromechanical power steering enables precise handling. The puristic character of the new R8 variant is accentuated by the matte black single-frame grille and the matte black air openings at the front and rear. The upper side blade (on the Coupé) is painted in glossy black, while the lower blade is the same color as the vehicle. As with the Audi R8 LMS GT4, the Audi R8 V10 RWS Coupé also comes with the option of a racing stripe in Misano Red that runs over the bonnet, roof and rear. In the vehicle interior, the driver and passenger sit on sport seats. These are covered with leather and Alcantara. Bucket seats are available on request. The dashboard bears an emblem that reads “1 of 999” – a reference to the limited quantity of this vehicle. The new Audi R8 V10 RWS has been available to order in Germany and other European countries since fall of 2017, and is on the road since early 2018.

The Lamborghini Supertrophy is a monomarque championship held every year on the most famous tracks mainly in Europe. since 1996 the cars competing in the Lamborghini Supertrophy were the Diablo SVR, a special version of the Diablo SV model adapting for racing. After four years of competition of the Diablo SVR has proved the extreme reliability of the Lamborghini engines which could stand four racing seasons with no problems for road use and brought to the track with no modifications. Now, to meet the requests of the passionate driver participating in the Lamborghini Supertrophy, the House of the Bull presenting the Lamborghini Diablo GTR, a car based on the Diablo GT, the most powerful produced in series, that will set a new benchmark in the monomarque championships with the engine delivering no less than 590 hp. In comparison with the Diablo GT, GTR most important features are a modified chassis frame with integrated roll bar, improved suspensions, central fixing nut for the rims, race braking systems, additional radiators for transmission oil cooling, very high-performance rear wing (directly bolted to chassis), simplified interiors and weight reductions. The engine is basically the same V12, 6 litre, of the Diablo GT which thanks to the adaption of the specially tuned exhaust system, without catalyses, delivers 590 hp (575 in the GT model)
