    • You may have understood that when I record a new car for the first time then it's quite unusual I'll upload a second or even a third video of the same in the near future. But sometimes it happens I discover there's something special, little details or differences that I missed the first time or just because there are some sort of updates on the car. You also know I'm a "car sound addicted" and that's the field I love to discover those details. Last week during a test day at Monza Circuit I focused my attention on this Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo because its downshifts were like none I've ever recorded before on this car. Yes the ST used to have aggressive downshifts garnished by rare and occasional pops/backfires, while the one you see in this video was continuously making loud bangs.     • Your 'thumb up' or comments are so appreciated. Thank you! This is not an ordinary 914. It is the version with the 6 cilinder engine, known as the 914/6. This particular example has been fully restored and mechanically rebuilt in Germany about nine years ago. It was a bare metal restoration! The car was sold by dealer 'Winter' in Berlin in February 1971 to its first owner. It has the factory 5.5 X 14 inch Fuchs wheels. By the late 1960s, both Volkswagen and Porsche were in need of new models; Porsche was looking for a replacement for their entry-level 912, and Volkswagen wanted a new range-topping sports coupe to replace the Karmann Ghia. At the time, the majority of Volkswagen's developmental work was handled by Porsche, part of a setup that dated back to Porsche's founding; Volkswagen needed to contract out one last project to Porsche to fulfill the contract, and decided to make this that project. Ferdinand Piëch, who was in charge of research and development at Porsche, was put in charge of the 914 project. Originally intending to sell the vehicle with a flat four-cylinder engine as a Volkswagen and with a flat six-cylinder engine as a Porsche, Porsche decided during development that having Volkswagen and Porsche models sharing the same body would be risky for business in the American market, and convinced Volkswagen to allow them to sell both versions as Porsches in North America. On March 1, 1968, the first 914 prototype was presented. However, development became complicated after the death of Volkswagen's chairman, Heinz Nordhoff, on April 12, 1968. His successor, Kurt Lotz, was not connected with the Porsche dynasty and the verbal agreement between Volkswagen and Porsche fell apart. In Lotz's opinion, Volkswagen had all rights to the model, and no incentive to share it with Porsche if they would not share in tooling expenses. With this decision, the price and marketing concept for the 914 had failed before series production had begun. As a result, the price of the chassis went up considerably, and the 914/6 ended up costing only a bit less than the 911T, Porsche's next lowest price car. The 914/6 sold quite poorly while the much less expensive 914/4 became Porsche's top seller during its model run, outselling the Porsche 911 by a wide margin with over 118,000 units sold worldwide. Volkswagen versions originally featured an 80 PS (59 kW; 79 bhp) fuel-injected 1.7 L flat-4 engine based on the Volkswagen air-cooled engine. Porsche's 914/6 variant featured a carbureted 110 PS (81 kW; 108 bhp) 2.0 L flat-6 engine from the 1969 911T, placed amidships in front of a version of the 1969 911's "901" gearbox configured for a mid-engine car. Karmann manufactured the rolling chassis at their plant, completing Volkswagen production in-house or delivering versions to Porsche for their final assembly. 914/6 models used lower gear ratios and high brake gearing in order to try to overcome the greater weight of the 6 cylinder engine along with higher power output. Suspension, brakes, and handling were otherwise the same. A Volkswagen-Porsche joint venture, Volkswagen of America, handled export to the U.S., where both versions were badged and sold as Porsches, except in California, where they were sold in Volkswagen dealerships. The four-cylinder cars were sold as Volkswagen-Porsches at European Volkswagen dealerships. Slow sales and rising costs prompted Porsche to discontinue the 914/6 variant in 1972 after producing 3,351 of them; its place in the lineup was filled by a variant powered by a new 100 PS (74 kW; 99 bhp) 2.0 L, fuel-injected version of Volkswagen's Type 4 engine in 1973. For 1974, the 1.7 L engine was replaced by a 85 PS (63 kW; 84 bhp) 1.8 L, and the new Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection system was added to American units to help with emissions control. 914 production ended in 1976. The 2.0 L flat-4 engine continued to be used in the 912E, which provided an entry-level model until the 924 was introduced. The 914 was Motor Trend's Import Car of the Year for 1970. A 914/6 GT driven by Frenchmen Claude Ballot-Lena and Guy Chasseuil won the GTS class and finished sixth overall at the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans. Brian Redman used a 914/6 to scout the course in practice runs for the 1970 Targa Florio.

  • This BMW 507 Has Been Reborn In The Memory Of Elvis Presley
    • “Around 2006, I drove down to the Half Moon Bay. The car was standing for years in a barn on a pumpkin farm,” begins Klaus Kutscher, Restoration Expert at BMW Classic. “It was really rough. A lot of parts were missing…” he says. Even finding a BMW 507 is an achievement, but true ‘barn find’ cars often require a Herculean amount of work to get right. This particular car had a saving grace, however: “We searched the VIN number and realized that the car belonged to Elvis.” That’s right: when Elvis Presley was based in Germany for the U.S. military, he drove this very car as his daily driver, even buying a second to give to friend Ursula Andress. As you could imagine, Elvis driving around Germany in a white BMW 507—of which there were roughly 250 examples made—wasn’t difficult to spot. “He loved the 507,” Kutscher says. “The car was normally white, and all his fans made kisses with lipsticks on the car, so he was mad and he painted the car red after that,” with Kutscher confirming the legend. It’s stories like those that helped to keep the restoration moving, even as the true measure of the task began to present itself. “The dashboard was cut and they had other instruments also in the car. They cut the frame. The car was painted twice, then black, and then after that again in red. Then the car [had] …a big accident.” Responsible for restoration at BMW Classic, the car presented both an opportunity to preserve history, as well as showcase the talents of his team in front of some serious crowds. After recently making its full public debut during Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance as the centerpiece of BMW’s 100-Year anniversary celebrations, the car will undoubtedly be active and present at classic car events for years to come. “We always want to keep the car in this condition.     • “I think it’s the car that put Lamborghini on the map,” says Dennis Varni, and we’d have to agree. Owner of a stunning Miura P400 S since 1979, Varni is an enthusiast with varied tastes, from Bonneville Salt Flats racers to a Fiat Topolino. But the Miura…the Miura is in a league of its own. It’s also something that he’d lusted after since he first laid eyes upon one. “These things were $19,000 new in those days, and I’d just bought a house with my wife for $11,000 in 1966, and I said, ‘I’ll never be able to own one of these’.” But less than a decade later, he did. And as a long-time owner who was originally into hot rods, he’s enjoyed how the car has opened his eyes into a world of European sports cars. “The most redeeming thing about the Miura would be the fact that there’s only so many of them. it’s highly collectable, it’s exciting, because it’s unusual, it’s small, it’s exotic—it’s still exotic today. And it was significant in its styling.” “I hope I get to stay around a long time, and play with all my toys, and then when I go someone else will have them,” he says.   • This Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T Is One Family’s Surviving Muscle Car
    • “In the summer of 1969, we found ourselves in Detroit. It was an exciting time for my father, of course, but for the whole family,” says Juan Escalante. “A visit to the Detroit Auto Show and seeing the Challenger…he just fell in love.” You’re looking at a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 426 Hemi 4-speed, one of only 137 equipped with the largest engine and a manual transmission. Chrysler made around 77,000 Challengers, making this easily one of the most rare variants. “From 1972 to 1996 the car remained in Venezuela,” says Escalante. “Word had preceded the car that a Hemi Challenger was to arrive in Venezuela, and this was among the motorheads and car enthusiasts… The car arrived, and they immediately started referring to the car as ‘El Hemi’.” With difficulty in finding parts in Venezuela, the car slowly slipped into disrepair after being parked—until Escalante and his brother convinced their father to ship the car to the U.S. to have it restored in 1996. Its completion in 2005 was bittersweet, however: their father passed away before the car was finished. “We had to gather ourselves and really think about how we were going to use the car, and one of the things that my dad always stressed was that the car [should be] used, that we would enjoy the car…that we would give rides to our kids and their friends and let them experience it,” says Escalante. “It’s a way of connecting those who have come before us to those who will be coming in the future.” Drive Tastefully® http://Petrolicious.com http://facebook.com/Petrolicious

    • “My general rule for cars that I purchase and drive is the aesthetic has to have a unique design, and there has to be a performance piece,” says TJ Grewal, owner of this Alfa Romeo Montreal sports car. “I’d never ever seen one in person, but I just knew that I was in love with the design.” “The first time I ever saw a Montreal, was this one.” His relationship with his cars is somewhat different from most, as they seem to dovetail with his other big hobby: photography. What started as capturing landscapes for TJ quickly turned into honoring his small but growing collection. “The professional side of life pays for everything else—this is the creative outlet. I want the car to be the hero, I want it to feel timeless.” “It went really quickly from fooling around with a constant light in the garage at a home to this setup, it was like, [snaps fingers] this is what I’m going to do…” For the Montreal, its 2.6-litre V8 with about 230 horsepower is “really happy around 90-100 mph” says TJ, with the car a perfect companion for a laid-back drive on a winding road.   • If The Shoe Fits, It Must Be A BMW M Coupe
    • “The times when I’m not bored is when I’m flying, when I’m flying my hang glider, when I’m racing the M Coupe—because all of a sudden the world moves up to my speed.” Airline pilot Alex McCulloch is a great judge of what it means to travel quickly and effortlessly through the air, and so his choice of a BMW M Coupe is telling. “Someone said, life is racing and everything else is just waiting,” McCulloch says, and after a short time with the M Coupe, he quickly realized he was going to have to bring the car to a track. “You cannot challenge yourself on public roads safely,” he says. The rare BMW fits in nicely with one of his other obscure pursuits: cross-country, long-distance hang gliding, a sport that allows him to “be in a movie.” Modified only in ways that allow him to put the car back to stock if needed, the car has been prepared for time trial events—where McCulloch is learning to be a faster driver. “I used to say it wanted to kill me, but now we’ve reached an agreement where it’s not quite as murderous,” he says.   • This Porsche 930 Turbo Is A Widowmaker
    • “We’ve had Porsches in our family for decades…my father’s had a billion of them, I think,” says the owner. “But my very first memory [of this car], and my fondest one, is when I put the keys in the ignition and drove it out of my uncle’s garage.” The story of how this 1978 Porsche 911 Turbo ended up with its current owner isn’t typical, but speaks to the bond between enthusiasts. “My uncle was really ill at the time, unfortunately…Yeah, he was going to die, basically…and he rang me up [from] the hospital and said, ‘Look, wondering if you want my car…” From that ending, a new beginning: the owner’s young son, is now able to bond with his father over their shared love for the Turbo. The younger owner will need some training, though: these cars aren’t for the faint of heart. Only 21 of these were brought into Australia in 1978, but many haven’t survived. “A lot of people bought these cars…and didn’t come home,” the owner says, “…these cars ended up around poles, ended up around trees, ended up upside-down…and, the technology isn’t in the car to cope with the amount of horsepower, really.” It’s all worth, it, though, as long as this cherished family car lives into the future. “You look at the car and you don’t think, ‘Oh gee, it looks old’…” he says. “What you see is a piece of history that will never be repeated.” Drive Tastefully® http://Petrolicious.com http://facebook.com/Petrolicious

    • ▪ Fastest and most powerful 718 Roadster of all time ▪ Uncompromising lightweight convertible roof with manual mechanism ▪ 1,410 kg thanks to consistently lightweight construction ▪ 500 PS high-revving engine from the 911 GT3 Porsche crowns the 718 mid-engined model line with a sports car designed for maximum driving pleasure: the new 718 Spyder RS is the open-top counterpart to the 718 Cayman GT4 RS. For the first time, the 368 kW (500 PS) naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer from the 911 GT3 features in an open-topped mid-engined sports car. High-revving naturally aspirated engine The powertrain of the new 718 Spyder RS is identical to that of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS coupe. The six-cylinder boxer engine, with its cylinder displacement of 4.0 litres, revs up to 9,000 rpm and generates an output of 368 kW (500 PS) and maximum torque of 450 Newton metres. Combined with a short-ratio seven-speed PDK transmission, the six-cylinder engine catapults the two-seater roadster from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. The car hits the 200-km/h mark in just 10.9 seconds. Compared to the 718 Spyder without the ‘RS’ designation, the new range-topper not only benefits from an additional 59 kW (80 PS), but also accelerates to 100 km/h half a second faster. The top speed is now 308 km/h instead of 300 km/h. Like every modern RS model, the new 718 Spyder RS is available exclusively with the Porsche dual clutch transmission (PDK). This gearbox shifts through its seven gears at lightning speed and guarantees maximum performance. The gearshift paddles allow drivers to keep their hands on the steering wheel even when shifting gears manually. Alternatively, the driver can use the ergonomically designed selector lever on the centre console. In addition to the more powerful engine, the new model’s lower weight also contributes to better performance: at 1,410 kilograms, the Spyder RS weighs 40 kg less than the 718 Spyder with PDK and is actually five kilograms lighter than the closed 718 Cayman GT4 RS. Balanced aerodynamics The front end of the new Porsche 718 Spyder RS is almost identical to the front end of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS. The standard front bonnet is made of CFRP and features a wide air outlet above the bumper. The two NACA ducts enhance brake cooling without adversely affecting the Cd value. Sideblades on the outer ends of the bumper increase downforce. The front spoiler lip is slightly shorter than on the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, which in conjunction with its large rear wing produces higher overall downforce on the Cayman and therefore requires a larger spoiler lip to achieve aerodynamic balance. Instead of a wing, the 718 Spyder RS features a striking tear-off edge shaped like a ducktail. All aerodynamic components are intricately coordinated. They maintain the car’s aerodynamic balance and ensure maximum driving stability at high speeds. Purist soft-top design The new 718 Spyder RS comes with a manually operated single-layer lightweight soft-top. The design is amazingly compact, consisting of two parts: a sun sail and a weather deflector. Both are completely removable and can be stowed together or singly in the vehicle. The sun sail alone can also be used as a ‘Bimini top’, thereby protecting the driver and front passenger from intense sunlight. The passenger compartment remains largely open to the side and behind the passengers. Together with the weather deflector, this creates a complete top that provides effective protection against rain when the side windows are raised. The entire roof, including mechanical parts, weighs just 18.3 kg. That’s 7.6 kg less than the 718 Spyder and 16.5 kg less than in the 718 Boxster. Sports suspension of the highest precision and agility The chassis of the 718 Spyder RS uses components from the 718 Cayman GT4 RS and the 718 Spyder and is designed for maximum driving pleasure on winding roads. It comes standard with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with sports tuning and has been lowered by 30 millimetres. It also features Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with mechanical limited-slip differential, ball-jointed suspension bearings and 20-inch forged aluminium wheels. The behaviour of the chassis is characterised by razor-sharp steering precision, as well as agile and extremely neutral handling. The ride height, camber, track and anti-roll bar can all be adjusted individually. Compared to the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, spring and damper rates have been reduced to achieve a more relaxed, characteristically convertible-style set-up. The new Porsche 718 Spyder RS starts at €155,575. The new Porsche 718 Spyder RS celebrates its public premiere in June at the festivities marking 75 years of Porsche Sports Cars in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen.     • ➤Don't forget to subscribe ! http://bit.ly/SubscribeJMSpeedshop ➤Website: http://jmspeedshop.com ➤instagram: https://www.instagram.com/johanmuter/ this Video is al about the pretty Rare SL60 AMG powered by a M119 v8 6.0 ltr 381HP 580NM this car was for sale at Passioncar.de. this company is a specialist in rare youngtimers and classics or/and low mileage cars here is a link to the website have a look for more nice cars https://www.passioncar.de/ this car is based on the SL500 R129 but it is been updated by AMG to a SL60 AMG . the where build from 1993 up to 1998 . what AMG did is give the car a AMG suspension, a body kit, AMG 18" wheels, and gave the engine a larger displacment of 6.0 ltr . this gives the engine 61hp and 110nm profit. this will accelerate the car from 0-100 in 5.8 sec and this is 0.7 sec faster then a sl500 but also 0.3 sec fast then an sl600. a sl600 has more power but it is 180kg heavier then this sl60 AMG i really like Mercedes v12 engine;s but this car is just much easier in the corner the most of the weight is on the front wheels and if the engine is smaller it will also save a lot of weight on the front axle. so the r129 v8 is just a better car for the corners i really liked this car. if there are any question just ask JMSpeedshop !
