Subaru's first car. the Subaru 1500 was introduced in 1954, only 20 were built. The Impreza was introduced in 1992 to replace the Subaru Leone. Subaru offered both front and all-wheel drive versions of the Impreza, the performance version was the WRX. The third generation was built from 2007-11, were slightly longer, standard width bodies were the GE 4 door Sedan and GH 5 door Hatchback, in R, RX, RS and early WRX models. The WRX STI and the standard WRX from 2010 on were 56mm wider; 4 door Sedan (GV) and 5 door Hatchback (GR) 2010 saw a mild facelift with a new grille insert. The WRX features rally inspired technology, including all wheel drive, stiffened suspensions and turbocharged engines. The numbered STi versions got blueprinted performance-tuned engines, transmissions, and suspensions.
