1969 Ford Torino Cobra Fastback- Lime Gold The Ford Torino was built from 1968-76. The 1968-69 first generation was sold along side the Fairlane, it got a full width grille and quad headlights. The Torino, the upmarket model got full carpet and additional exterior and interior trim. The new fastback model (Ford called it the Sportsroof) produced great aerodynamics, great for the racetrack. 1969 was just a minor facelift on the 1968 model, the grille had a more prominent centre dividing bar, tail lights were squarer. The standard Torino, with standard 6 cyl, was available as a 2 door hardtop, 4 door Sedan and Squire wagon. The Torino GT, standard with 302 V8, higher trim level and non functional hood scoop, was available as 2 door hardtop, 2 door Sports Roof and Convertible. The new Torino Cobra, introduced in 1969, the trim level was very basic and a plain blacked out grille, but came standard with the 428 Cobra Jet, competition suspension and 4 speed manual, it was available in 2 door Hardtop and 2 door Sports Roof. Engines; 155hp 250 cu in 6 cyl (200 cu in in 1968), 220hp 302, 290hp 351, 320hp 390 and 335hp 428 Cobra Jet. The 350hp 428 Super Cobra Jet, known as the Drag Pack was designed specifically for drag racing.

1983-87 Honda Civic third generation- Likely to be an early one, due to the plate format used until 1982, with a few surplus combinations left over. This is an attractive and uncommonly seen Honda Civic from the mid 1980s. It's refreshing to see a Civic which hasn't been messed around with by boy racer types- originals are in my opinion almost always better. It looked fairly tidy and good for its age. In the UK, it's pretty rare to find ones of this age, more so in this saloon (sedan) form, as most survivors seem to be the hatchbacks. Given the steel wheels, it's probably a fairly low spec. Note the Opel Kadett van behind. These shared similarities to Honda Ballades, one of which I spotted a couple of months ago.

1969 Lincoln Continental Mark III Coupe- Light Copper. The Lincoln Motor Company was originally founded in 1917 and since 1922 has been the luxury vehicle division of the American Ford Motor Company. Lee Iacocca decided the new Continental Mark Series would be based on Fords Thunderbird platform, the Continental squarer and more upright and with a Rolls Royce style grille and hideaway headlamps. The first of these new style Continentals, the Mark III was built from 1968-71. Available as a 2 door Hardtop Coupe. Standard Continentals were available in 4 door Sedan and 2 door Coupe. In 1969 the vinyl roof was an option, from 1970, it was standard, also in 1970, windshield wipers were now concealed, and the wheel covers were redesigned. 1971 cars got high back seats. Replaced by the Mk IV in 1972. Engine; 365hp 460 cu in V8
