    • Behold the latest version of Porsche’s Tesla-challenging Taycan, the GTS. It’s the ninth version of the company’s electric vehicle that has, just recently, started outselling Porsche’s precious 911. It’s bad enough when your icon starts getting outsold by an SUV. But a battery-powered sedan? Regardless, the GTS is the most sporting of all those nine variants. Of course, “sporting” in Porsche-speak is different from, say, Dodge's use of the term, focusing on balance rather than brute force, delicacy of steering rather than blinding acceleration. That’s just a long way of saying that those thinking the GTS will be the fastest of Taycans will be disappointed. What the GTS can boast, though, is handling in spades. If you want something that steers more precisely than this electrified GTS, you’re going to have to lose two doors, ditch the battery, and spend a boatload more money.

The purchase price of the BMW M4 GT3 starts at € 415,000 net – € 5,000 less than the price of its predecessor, the BMW M6 GT3, and roughly the same as its competitors. The ‘Competition Package’ is available as an option ex factory. This includes useful optional features, integrated and tested specifically for use in endurance races. As a special extra, the package includes an exclusive training day in an in-house BMW M4 GT3 simulator.

    • BMW’s M Division is on a roll. The M2 CS was brilliant, the M5 CS was bewitching, the reviews were effusive. Now, after an absence of almost 20 years, and in honor of M’s 50th birthday, BMW has brought back its most iconic badge of all: CSL. However, at first glance, the new G82 M4 CSL isn’t particularly ‘L,’ which stands for 'lightweight.' At a DIN curb weight of 1625kg or 3583lb, the new M4 is pretty chunky. However, Catchpole wonders whether we should be so quick to judge? Since the badge doesn’t just represent lightweight, we decided that the new M4 should meet its predecessor; the amazing E46 M3 CSL. From the use of carbon fibre, to the extreme Michelin tyres, to the questionable gearboxes, to the tails of aquatic birds—the more you look at the two, the more there are interesting comparisons.
