Crazy start at Race # 1 | DTM Zolder 2021- DTM race no. 3 of the season 2021 took place in Zolder (Belgium) and went wild right after the start! During the first chicane, Daniel Juncadella and Arjun Maini collided, which also affected Liam Lawson who had to end the race prematurely. After the Safety Car restart, Mike Rockenfeller and Kelvin van der Linde fought side by side with a lucky Kelvin van der Linde who came out on top at the end of the race, followed by his Audi team-mate Mike Rockenfeller. Lamborghini Jalpa Startup and Accelerate- DtRockstar1 records a very rare Lamborghini Jalpa starting up and driving away. I have seen 4 of these, and this is probably the meanest sounding one I have heard. This car was built in the mid 80s as the 'little brother' of the Lamborghini Countach. Just 420 Jalpas were built. Sylvester Stallone drove a black Lamborghini Jalpa in the movie Rocky IV, and Phil Collins drove a white one in the Miami Vice episode "Phil the Shill." Chevrolet Corvette C5.R V8 Roar in action: OnBoard, Warm Up & Fly Bys!- During a free practice day, ahead of the 2019 Dix Mille Tours du Castellet racing weekend by Peter Auto, I had the great chance to see, record and put an action camera inside a real endurance legend: the Corvette C5.R. This one in particular is chassis C5R-002 and it was built at the very end of 1998, ready to be unleashed in the 1999 season, during which it was powered by a 6.0 V8 engine. In 2000 the engine was changed with a Katech LS1 427 7.0 engine mated to a Hewland 5-speed racing manual transmission. Watch it in action around Circuit Paul Ricard, driven by Olivier and Xavier Galant, for a few brief sessions. NEW Pagani Huayra R Evo testing at Misano: 900HP/9,200 rpm V12 (w/ Mufflers) howling on track!- During a recent test day organized by Kateyama at Misano World Circuit, I was lucky enough to catch Pagani Automobili's new track toy: the Huayra R Evo. The car was announced earlier this year but the development mule was only spotted for the first time in the last few months. The Evo features numerous updates compared to the 'standard' R and they focus on both the aesthetic and mechanical aspects. The aerodynamic package immediately catches the eye with an extended rear body (19 cm longer than the standard R), creating a “long tail” effect which helps to increase downforce by 45% and aerodynamic efficiency by 21%. A third, central fin has been added to create more stability in fast corners. The front has a new and bigger splitter, such as double dive planes on each side of the car. The hair scoop has also been redesigned and extended towards the windshield. It's also a lot narrower than the one on the R, not only to improve aerodynamic flows and those directed to the engine, but also to accommodate the Evo's major feature: the ability of removing the roof. Contrary to what one might think, removing the two roof sections it makes the aerodynamics even more efficient. The open-top configuration determines a gain in vertical load, both at the front and at the rear, increasing the total downforce by a further 5%. (You can spot the open-top config at 0:19). The Huayra R Evo also features changes in its suspension setup, with the introduction of a heave damper/third element on each axis, new Brembo CCM-R carbon-ceramic discs and new Pirelli P Zero slick tyres. Last but not least, the engine. The 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 has been further developed by HWA AG technicians creating the so called V12-R Evo version which is now able to produce 900 hp at 8,750 rpm and 770 Nm from 5,800 to 8,200 rpm, revving up to 9,200 rpm. The dry weight of the car is just 1,060 kg. As happened the very first time I recorded the development mule of the Huayra R, I had to settle for hearing it with the optional mufflers that could be fitted as required, ensuring that noise emissions are reduced to within the FIA limit of 110 decibels for noise restricted tracks. In all honesty it wasn't that bad as you can appreciate more the mechanical symphony produced by this racing engine (especially the intake sound). The Ferrari J50 is a two-seater, mid-rear-engined roadster that marks a return to the targa body style evocative of several well-loved Ferrari road cars of the 1970s and 1980s. Designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre team in Maranello, just 10 examples of the J50 will be built and, in the spirit of Ferrari’s fuori serie tradition, each one will be tailored specifically to the customer’s requirements. 2019 ASTON MARTIN RAPIDE AMR SPIED TESTING AT THE NÜRBURGRING- During Industry Pool at the Nürburgring I have filmed the 2019 Aston Martin Rapide AMR. It's hard to believe it's been almost a decade since the Aston Martin Rapide went on sale, as even to this day the sexy, fastback sedan remains one of the best looking four-door cars on the market. The Rapide is on its way out, however, and there aren't any plans for a direct successor since Aston Martin is handing responsibility for sedans over to its revived Lagonda sub-brand. To ensure the Rapide is sent off in style, the British firm has a couple of things in store for fans. One will be an electric version of the car due next year and the other will be a high-performance version wearing an AMR badge. AMR, whose initials reference the Aston Martin Racing motorsport division, is the new performance sub-brand of Aston Martin, a bit like what Black Series is to Mercedes-AMG. The cars come in standard AMR guise and track-focused AMR Pro, with the latter most recently being applied to the Valkyrie hypercar. This Rapide AMR was previewed in concept form last year. The car will feature a 592-horsepower version of Aston Martin's 5.9-liter V-12, making it one of the last models to use the naturally aspirated mill that comes from Ford. The engine will be paired to an 8-speed automatic and spin the rear wheels only. Look for 0-60 mph acceleration in well under 5.0 seconds and a top speed of 210 mph. There will be upgrades to the chassis as well. There's no missing the huge brake discs and calipers, housed with 21-inch wheels. The suspension is also likely to be tauter than what you get on the standard Rapide. Another change will be the addition of carbon fiber elements including new aero parts. The front fascia with its lip spoiler and circular intakes is clearly different to other Rapides, and there are also chunky side skits and a rear diffuser. The exhaust tips shown are temporary units. These should be replaced by dual-tip designs on the final version. The interior will get a makeover too. Look for better bolstered seats up front and plenty of Alcantara and carbon fiber trim. AMR badging should also feature throughout. Deliveries of the Rapide AMR are expected to commence later this year. Just 210 examples will be built, the number reflecting the top speed. Lamborghini Huracán STO in action on track: Exhaust Sound, Accelerations & Downshifts!- During the 2021 Lamborghini World Finals, the final racing weekend of the Lamborghini one-make series (Super Trofeo), I recorded some brand new Huracán STOs in action on track both to offer passenger hotlap rides but also to give the opportunity to customers and VIPs to try the new weapon (the scenes in which a STO is chasing a Huracán Evo). The STO, which stands for Super Trofeo Omologata, is the closest Huracán road car to a Super Trofeo or GT3 racecar. It's powered by the usual 5.2-litre V10 engine but which is now able to produce 640hp at 8,000 rpm and 565 Nm of torque. 2023 McLaren Artura GT4 in action at Goodwood FOS!- During the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed I have filmed the all new 2023 McLaren Artura GT4. Much like Lotus, McLaren has always been about keeping weight down to a minimum to maximize performance. Even the Artura with its intricate plug-in hybrid powertrain tips the scales at only 1,395 kilograms (3,075 pounds) in its lightest form before you add fluids. Unveiled before arriving at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, its race car equivalent shaves off 130 kg (287 lbs) to comply with GT4 regulations that don't allow hybrids. At the same time, the Artura GT4 is more than 100 kg (220 lbs) lighter than the 570S GT4 it replaces. Switching from a V8 to a more compact V6 has also contributed to the diet, and the six-cylinder unit alone is powerful enough to make the track-only machine competitive. The battery pack fitted to the road car has now made way for the 110-liter (29-gallon) fuel cell and ancillary drive system. By repurposing the same space, McLaren says that weight continues to be low and in the center for better balance. Aside from the simplified powertrain, the Artura GT4 gets a different seven-speed gearbox to replace the eight-speed automatic in the road car where the electric motor is used for reverse. It gets shorter gear ratios than its predecessor along with a rear-mounted mechanical limited-slip differential while reducing brake wear at the back. Fuel consumption is also down, while braking cooling efficiency is up. Naturally, the motorsport variant gets a far more aggressive aerodynamic kit enabling greater downforce compared to the outgoing 570S GT4. McLaren has conceived a bespoke front splitter and a new rear wing with seven levels of adjustability to fit various types of tracks. We're being told the race car is just as safe as the 720S GT3 from which it has inherited the driver's seat and adjustable pedals. Before doing battle with the recently introduced 2023 BMW M4 GT4, the McLaren Artura GT4 will celebrate its public debut on June 23 at the Goodwood FoS in Sussex. Prospective buyers should know it's going to cost a cool £200,000 before options or about £10,000 more than the street-legal supercar. 2023 Porsche 991.2 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo track debut: Accelerations, Downshifts & Sound- During the first round of the GT2 European Series at Monza Circuit I recorded three GT2 RS Clubsport race cars which seemed to me to have something different from how I was used to remembering them. Two of them were fielded by the Italian team Ebimotors (Martini and Rothmans-inspired liveries) while the third black and fluo orange was entered by Mathey Racing. And indeed a few days after the racing weekend Porsche revealed that a new 'Evo' kit was fitted on all three cars. The 700 hp race car remains mainly unchanged from a mechanical point of view and is still based on the 991-generation 911 GT2 RS road-legal car powered by a 3.8-liter, twin-turbo flat-6 engine. But being one of the first cars of the new GT2 class introduced in 2019, Porsche wanted to give their customers the means to continue competing at the top of the class. The mainly area on which the development work was carried out is certainly the aerodynamic side: fully new front section with modified air intakes for brake cooling, different splitter and front hood to provide appropriate ventilation, new and higher Gurney flap on the rear wing and slightly revised rear bumper. Front and rear fenders have also been widened, creating more space for the new 18-inch redesigned wheels. All these changes are easily noticeable on the Manthey GT2 as they correspond to the fluo orange parts. On Thursday, 25 October 2018, the Porsche GT2 RS MR completed a lap of the 20.6-kilometre long circuit in 6:40.3 minutes. No other road-legal vehicle has ever been so fast on ‘The Green Hell’ track. Lars Kern was at the wheel of the sports car, which had been especially set up for the ‘Nordschleife’ by Porsche engineers and Manthey-Racing experts. The Porsche test driver already set a lap record in September 2017 in a series-production Porsche 911 GT2 RS. “We kept our eye on the weather all day and thought hard about whether such a drive was possible. We would not have taken any risks if it was raining or if the track was slightly damp,” says Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Head of Motorsport and GT Cars. The Porsche 911 GT2 RS was equipped with the new performance kit from Manthey-Racing, supplemented by an overall vehicle setup tailored to the circuit characteristics of the Nürburgring-Norschleife. “In this test drive, we simply wanted to assess the potential of the vehicle once more. The result is quite impressive. It really is a fabulous time. This shows again very clearly the exciting possibilities of this sports car.” The Porsche GT2 RS was launched on the market in 2017 as the fastest and most powerful 911 of all time so far. In recent months, Porsche engineers used their know-how from development of the 911 RSR and 911 GT3 R race cars as well as the experience of Manthey-Racing gained in numerous successful races on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. The targeted modifications included the areas of chassis and aerodynamics. The technicians focused on suitability for on-road driving at all times. “The drive was great fun,” says development engineer Lars Kern. The 31-year-old knows the ‘Ring’ very well from test and record drives as well as numerous VLN races. “The balance of the car is also very good with the new package. I did not have to take any great risks to be fast. But I only had one attempt because it was already getting dark. It worked out first time though.” Manthey-Racing CEO Nicolas Raeder adds: “We are very proud. It was a great challenge to make the already tremendously fast Porsche 911 GT2 RS even faster.” In autumnal but dry conditions, Lars Kern optimally exploited the huge potential of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR on his record lap under the eyes of a notary. For the fuel, Porsche relied on Esso as a proven partner from motor sports. The driver's seat was the only modification compared with the version of the GT2 RS MR that can now be ordered from Manthey-Racing for club sport and track day events. A racing bucket seat was fitted in the record-breaking vehicle for safety reasons. This modification did not provide any weight benefits. The fastest and most powerful Porsche 911 made its world debut at Goodwood in the UK in June 2017. The 3.8-litre engine produces 515 kW (700 hp; Fuel consumption combined 11.8 l/100 km; CO2 emissions 269 g/km) and delivers a torque of 750 Nm. The top speed of the rear-wheel-drive sports car is 340 km/h. The two-seater weighs in at just 1,470 kilograms and accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. In September, Porsche presented the new Porsche 935, based on the ultra-modern technology of the 911 GT2 RS, at the Rennsport Reunion VI in Laguna Seca, California (USA). The exclusive vehicle, which is designed for track day use, will be delivered to customers next year in a limited production run of just 77 cars. The company Manthey-Racing is based in Meuspath at the Nürburgring and is managed by the brothers Nicolas and Martin Raeder. Porsche AG owns a 51 percent share in the company. Manthey-Racing offers services, part packages and race events for customers. The racing team from the Eifel region is the sole record holder with six overall victories in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring race. Among other things, the team from Meuspath is responsible for the two 911 RSR entered in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). In this race series, Porsche achieved a class victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June 2018. The car is the last addition of Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing’s range of TCR cars and it has been built taking advantage of three years’ work and experience with the i30 N TCR and Veloster N TCR cars. In line with the TCR regulations the Elantra N TCR is front-wheel drive and is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine derived from a brand new base engine taken from Hyundai’s family of road-going models, which is able to produce around 350 hp at 7,000 rpm and 450 Nm at 3,500 rpm. 2018 Aston Martin DB11 V8 Review | Test Drive | Edmunds- Edmunds Senior Writer Mark Takahashi snuck out of the office to drive the 2018 Aston Martin DB11 V8 on some epic roads. Needless to say, he loved every minute of it. This DB11 V8 represents a slightly more accessible version of the V12 model that debuted last year. And we mean slightly, since it's only $16,000 less than the V12 for a starting price right around $200,000. Under the hood is a Mercedes-Benz-sourced twin-turbo V8 that makes 503 horsepower. It also makes some pretty glorious noises. Unlike Aston Martins of the recent past, the DB11 benefits from the Mercedes partnership by borrowing much of their interior infotainment and switchgear. The interior is now appropriately outfitted and finished for a quarter-million-dollar car. It may not be the fastest, the most comfortable or the most convenient car in its class, but it's not that far off those marks, either. It is drop-dead gorgeous, however, and that may be reason enough to pull some money out of your offshore account. Mark's quite taken with the DB11, so if you see him, tell him Aston Martin expects the car back at some point and his assignments aren't going to write themselves.

How fast does the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye do 0-60 mph? Dodge says the Redeye runs 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds and clears the quarter-mile in 10.8 seconds at 131 mph. That's 4 mph faster than the Hellcat Widebody, which covers the same distance in 10.9 seconds. Is the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye available with a manual transmission? Sadly, no. While you can get a six-speed manual transmission in a Hellcat, the Redeye can only be had with an eight-speed automatic because Dodge doesn't have a manual rated for 707 pound-feet of torque. 2021 Lamborghini SCV12 ON BOARD- Emanuele Pirro vi porta a bordo della nuova Lamborghini SCV12 sulla pista di Imola. La hypercar da pista progettata da Lamborghini Squadra Corse e disegnata dal Lamborghini Centro Stile, ha completato i test di sviluppo ed è pronta al debutto, programmato nel corso dell’estate 2020. La vettura è equipaggiata con il più potente V12 aspirato mai progettato da Lamborghini, in grado di erogare oltre 830 CV, anche grazie al contributo della sovralimentazione dinamica alle alte velocità. Potenza da gestire con un inedito cambio portante 6 rapporti, derivato dall’unità montata Huracán Super Trofeo Evo, posto sul retrotreno e abbinato alla trazione posteriore. Eccezionale anche il rapporto peso/potenza, grazie all’inedito telaio monoscocca di nuova generazione, realizzato in fibra di carbonio e progettato specificatamente per la vettura. Per offrire la massima agilità e al contempo la massima stabilità nonché un piacere di guida estremo anche sui tracciati più impegnativi, sono state adottate soluzioni cinematiche ispirate dai prototipi da competizione, come le sospensioni posteriori push-rod installate direttamente sul cambio. La potenza è scaricata a terra tramite pneumatici slick Pirelli specifici montati su cerchi in magnesio da 19 pollici all’anteriore e da 20 al posteriore. L’aerodinamica è figlia dell’esperienza Lamborghini Squadra Corse nelle competizioni GT e assicura un livello di efficienza e deportanza superiore a quello di una vettura GT3. Il cofano anteriore presenta la doppia presa d’aria con costola centrale tipica delle Huracán da competizione, per sviluppare flussi aerodinamici favorevoli all’airscoop posto al centro del tetto. Sempre all’anteriore spiccano splitter e le due appendici laterali; sulle fiancate i flussi destinati al raffreddamento di motore e cambio sono stati ottimizzati attraverso l’utilizzo di pinne verticali poste sui brancardi. Completa il pacchetto aerodinamico la grande ala posteriore regolabile e dal doppio profilo. La vettura, non omologabile per utilizzo stradale, verrà interamente prodotta nella Factory di Sant’Agata Bolognese in poche decine di esemplari. I clienti entreranno a far parte di un esclusivo club che darà accesso a programmi di guida dedicati per pilotare la propria SCV12 in tutti i più prestigiosi circuiti del mondo. La Borgward Arabella de Tim- En août dernier avec mon fils nous avons eu la chance de conduire la Borgward Arabella de Tim. Cette voiture a fait l'objet d'un article sur le n°196 de janvier 2013 de la revue Gazoline. C'est d'ailleurs grâce à cet article que nous avons pu faire connaissance de Tim et de l'association "Les amis de Lloyd". Depuis, une grande amitié nous lient à travers notre passion !
