  • Abarth 500e (2023) - Elektro-Rennsemmel macht ordentlich Sound … und jede Menge Spaß!
    • Abarth 500e - Erster Abarth mit reinem E-Antrieb Ob das Carlo Abarth bei der Gründung seines Unternehmens im Jahr 1949 erahnt hat? Ein rein elektrisch angetriebener Abarth? Wohl kaum. Sei´ drum. Nachdem Fiat mit dem 500E an die Spitze der meistverkauften E-Automobile in Deutschland gefahren ist, war es naheliegend, auch die sportlich-positionierten Marke Abarth an diesem Erfolg teilhaben zu lassen. So geschieht es nun. Der Abart 500 E kommt auf den Markt. Dazu wurde der Fiat 500 um die Abarth typischen Insignien erweitert. Neben feinen Änderungen an der Karosse gibt es den abarth-typischen Sound - allerdings aus der Retorte. #abarth500e #derautotester #cabrio #abarth500 #abarth Der, im Unterschied zum Fiat 500e (Tichy, Polen), in Turin (Italien) gebaute Abarth 500e nutzt einen leistungsstarken 155 PS-E-Antrieb mit der 42 kWh Batterie (295 Kilo). Das Drehmoment wird mit 235 Newtonmetern angegeben. So sprintet der Abarth 500E in 7 Sekunden aus dem Stand auf Tempo 100. Anders formuliert, in nur 2,4 Sekunden auf Tempo 50. Warum der Vorteil des E-Antriebs in diesem Bereich hervor sticht? Weil beim E-Antrieb das Drehmoment vom Start weg anliegt. Die Höchstgeschwindigkeit des Abarth 500 e ist auf 155 Stundenkilometer begrenzt. Er könnte zwar schneller, aber dann würde die Reichweite zu sehr leiden. Der-Autotester konnte das auf ersten Testfahrten auf den Straßen um den Starnberger See bereits erfahren. Und wir müssen sagen, die etwa 1,4 Tonnen wiegende Renn-Semmel macht jede Menge Freude, denn sie geht ab wie Schmitz´ Katze. Auch wenn der Sound dazu künstlich erzeugt wird, passt er perfekt zu diesem sportlichen Kleinstwagen. Der Sound ist außerhalb des Wagens besser zu vernehmen, wie innen. Aber das soll wohl so sein. Selbstredend ist das Fahrwerk des Abarth 500e sportlich hart ausgelegt. Zu ausgewogenen Fahrverhalten trägt auch die nahezu ideale Gewichtsverteilung von 57 (vorn) zu 43 (hinten) bei. Je nach Lust und Laune kann der Fahrer aus 3 Fahrmodi wählen; vom zurückhaltenden Turismo (sanftere Beschleunigung) bis zu heftigen „Scorpion Track (volle Leistung). Schön und teuer Unser Testwagen war ein Cabrio (Rolldach) in der Farbe „Poison Blue“ (700 Euro mehr, nur weiß ist aufpreisfrei) mit der umfangreichen „Turismo“ Ausstattung, die es ab 45.990 Euro gibt. Geschlossen kostet der Abarth 500e 3.000 Euro weniger. Der Preis ist natürlich kein Schnäppchen, aber wenn man hier „investiert“, sollten auch die 3.000 Euro für die Rolldach-Variante noch drin sein. In der günstigsten Form will dieser erste Elektro-Abarth mit 37.990 Euro bezahlt sein. Dann sind allerdings (unter anderem) weder der Abarth-Sound-Generator, noch das Assistenz-Paket oder das schöne Alcantara inklusive. Im Vergleich dazu kostet der bravere Fiat 500e mit seinen 118 PS ab 29.990 Euro. Ob der Mehrpreis für das Plus an Leistung von 37 PS und das sportlichere Design gerechtfertigt ist, muss jeder für sich entscheiden. Der WLTP-Verbrauch wird vom Hersteller mit 18 kW je 100 Kilometer angegeben. Allerdings zeigte unser Testwagen, den wie natürlich herausfordernd bewegt haben, im Schnitt 28 kW je 100 Kilometer an. Hier unterscheiden sich E-Autos nicht von Verbrennern, will sagen, wenn man es laufen lässt, geht der Verbrauch steil nach oben und die Reichweite runter. Wenn man seinen Gasfuß sehr zügeln kann (was mir im Abarth 500e schwer fällt) nur in der City fährt, kommt man auf etwas über 400 Kilometer. Ansonsten sollte man unterwegs mit 150 bis 200 Kilometer kalkulieren, denn man fährt ihn ja weder ganz leer, noch lädt man mehr als 80 Prozent (weil sonst die Wartezeit an der Ladesäule überproportional lang wird).   • Peugeot 9X8 LMH (Le Mans Hypercar) Raw Sounds from its Racing Debut at Monza Circuit!
    • After completing more than 10,000km of testing since December 2021, the Peugeot 9X8 made its official public and racing debut during the recent 6 Hours of Monza, fourth round of the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship. This is for sure a pretty clever move by Peugeot, since at first the car was due to debut at the start of the 2023 season. Having three round of ''competitive'' testing will sure help them to gain experience with their new weapon and be ready to fight as soon as the upcoming season will kick off. The 9X8 has been designed under the new LMH (Le Mans Hypercar) rules, which consist in prototypes designed from the ground-up with optional hybrid power. Together with the LMDh (Le Mans Daytona Hybrid) cars, prototypes based on a shared structure with mandatory hybrid power, both will be raced for the victory starting from the next Le Mans 24h in a single ''Hypercar'' class. Thanks to the greater freedom allowed by the LMH regulations and with an upper limit of downforce permitted by the regulations, Peugeot developed an unique and futuristic car without the typical rear wing opting for underfloor generation of downforce. Peugeot specifies that actually the upper and lower body work together to generate the required forces. The body is also characterized by the presence of a 'shark' fin mounted on the centreline of the engine cover plus some winglets and other vertical fins on the upper part of the rear wheel arches to achieve yaw stability. The 9X8 is four-wheel drive, with a 2.6-litre twin-turbo 90° V6 powering the rear wheels and a bespoke, high performance electric motor on the fronts. The V6 can produce more than 680 hp (500kW) while the electric unit has a power of 200 kW (270 hp). As required by the regulation (but adjusted from race to race by the Balance of Performance), the maximum power cannot exceed 680 hp/500 kW in total, so the on-board electronics manage the power level in all circumstances, using the hybrid "boost" starting from a regulated speed (which was set at 150 km/h during Monza's round). Although over time I have become less and less excited about racing weekends, this time I couldn't miss the opportunity to record this new race car. Don't get me wrong: I'm always a huge fan of seeing cars racing in person. My criticism is related to the fact that I generally don't attend racing weekends to have fun and relax but I'm there to bring home some good footage to share with you. And these events aren't ideal for the kind of shooting that I love to do. In fact the track is generally very packed and 'noisy' so it's quite challenging to record my typical scenes with only the sound of the car I actually want to record. Anyway with a bit of patience I managed to put together a pretty decent result.     • After expressing an interest in racing, saying it "looked like fun," Mr. Jack Griffin found himself strapped to a race car contesting the 12 Hours of Sebring. Sure it was his first time sitting in a proper race car, but he had four days of training in a Nissan 280ZX at Bondurant a week or so earlier. In spite of his ample experience he found himself crunched against one of Sebring's concrete barriers only fifteen laps into his stint. Fortunately, he's had better luck with this 1970 Porsche 914-6 that he has now owned for thirty-eight years. Even though he'd been looking for a 911 (and has since owned several), he has completely fall for its light, quick manner and very predictable, solid handling. And while he doesn't consider the Porsche beautiful, Jack does think it looks "interesting" and loves the rarity.
