    • They were the future, once. Back we decided that using no fuel at all was the way to go, these cars were designed to use as little of it as possible. First up, then, the Toyota Prius, the original petrol-electric hybrid vehicle for the masses. It looks conventional (ish) but housed what was, at the time, a truly unusual powerplant.   • 350 HP GProgramm Resto-Mod 1979 Porsche 911 - One Take
    • This 1979 "G-Body" Porsche 911 has been stripped to bare metal and rebuilt from the ground up to not only a very high performance standard, but also a very high cosmetic standard. It was built by GProgramm of Oyster Bay, NY, with the goal of bringing out the very best of classic 911 styling and modern performance in an air-cooled package. It has been converted from torsion beam to coil-over suspension, with big brakes, modern Fuchs-look wheels, and a 350-horsepower 3.4L "Twin Plug" flat-six. Learn more about GProgramm's 911 builds or commission your own at: https://www.gprogramm.com/ They drove this car all the way here from New York, 3,500 miles for Luftgek¸hlt and this is a lovely looking little '79 911. It's been media blasted right down to the body, repainted in a lovely slate gray. It's got the business the suspension has been completely gone through it's now on coil overs Bilstein dampers, it has Boxster Pistons at all four corners so it should be pretty thorough stopping power there's roll bar vintage style roll bar these lovely comfortable vintage look seats and a tartan that I really just have to get my hands on. The gearbox is still a 915 version 5-speed and this company only does G body cars so it's not the full back date it's not modern 911s but only G body cars so this car only weighs 2,300 pounds and with quite a riot so let's have a go. Now, according to the guys at GProgramm, I gotta wind out so wind it out I will. It's got slightly bigger and we're 255 rear tire, Bridgestone Potenza Very direct steering, not power assisted. Well rather than sit behind cars in this lovely piece of hardware, we're gonna flippen ze bitchen right here and just make ourselves a new direction. It's got a lot of front tire, seems like it's tramlining a little bit but it might also need some alignment settings after across the US but feels real good. It's luxurious but also got really good bolstering, it's holding me in. Making me happy! Just a little hint of understeer on power but the lift brings it right back. Luftgek¸hlt! Man, it's got a really good power-to-weight ratio definitely enough power to get yourself in all kinds of trouble It's linear enough and it's not overwhelming to the chassis. Lovely day for a drive in Malibu; cool, dense air, medium humidity It's got 46mm carbs and, to be perfectly honest, I don't know what that means in the grand scheme of things but they were awfully proud of it. Really engaging, really rewarding and I've found construction. It was an unofficial quote bu when I said "When you build a car just like this what's the price point?" They said $200,000. Whoa, $200,000 is quite a lot now it's not to say that there isn't quite a lot of engineering in this car, these twin plug engines I hear are quite expensive and some might say worth it and this car feels mostly very sorted. Having said that, do I personally feel $200,000 on a regular G body Carrera that just happens to be some wonky color that's super rare? No, and people pay that all the time so what do I know? There's the 'what do I know' example for sure. So price is relative if you can afford it, I can just tell you that it drives beautifully I can tell you that Prefer not thinking about what it would cost to build one and I can tell you that it does drive beautifully and before you commenters say that's Singer money I do have to tell you that it is not Singer money. A Singer starts at 400 and goes up to half Singer money. This car is 10 years older than my Fox Body which I drove up here this morning and it makes my Fox Body feel, in terms of build quality, like an absolute steaming pile of crap. I mean I'll be honest my Fox Body's great, I love it but compared to the build quality of something like this even the basic car, there's no comparison. There's a Nash Metropolitan around here that runs like 8's. You know making a car fast is only impressive to a certain degree. You can't un-shitbox something no matter how much money you spend so, by starting with this beautiful well-made Porsche, you're quite ahead of the game already. I'll say it again do I know if it's worth $200,000? It depends on how much money you have. If you don't have $200,000 to burn then no it's not if you have a lot more than $200,000 well there' other things you can spend $200,000 on that are far dumber than this but let's not harp on the price let's just harp on the fact that I'm going to end this video with two minutes of twin plug goodness and I'll fade out check out GProgramm in the description.     • This is a car collection with a difference! Not only does a Pagani Zonda Revolucion take the flagship roll in the mancave, but there's a Zonda R inside @69rideordie's living room! Join me to explore this incredible garage and private car collection, as well as the totally unique and unbelievably cool setup. Getting started in the garage, there is an eclectic selection of race cars; highlighted for me by the Pagani Zonda Revolucion. Sitting around it there are road going supercars like the McLaren Senna (a friend currently borrowing a space from the Pagani Huayra BC that's on the way back from Europe), Porsche GT2 RS and Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corse. In addition there are 3 World Rally Championship cars, a Dakar Rally car, a NASCAR, 2 Indycars, a Huracan Supertrofeo, Prage and some superbikes... all presented in an environment for the purpose with flags hanging, tyres stacked, and ornaments on display. The Pagani Zonda Revolucion is one of only 5 that were built and this one has been used properly being driven at racetracks on 3 different continents. The Revolucion followed from the 15 Zonda Rs and 1 R Evolution, and has a 6.0l V12 that makes 800hp along with it only weighing 1,070kg. However, it's heading over to @69rideordie's apartment that's really setting us up for something unique. Acting as a dividing wall between the living room and bedroom is a Pagani Zonda R! It may not run the entire engine and running gear but the bodywork is complete and displayed to behold in full glorious exposed carbon fibre.     • This is a classic video and it can be found *everywhere* on the net. It's an absolute must-see, if you love the Nordschleife or want to learn the track. Watch Hans-Joachim Stuck carve through traffic in his BMW M3 GTR on his way to a record-setting lap, and hear his insightful turn-by-turn commentary. This video is a mashup of two other videos, listed below. I have mixed the engine and gearbox noise very loud (the way it should be IMHO), which makes the commentary a little hard to hear, but I've added subtitles so you can can still catch every word. Sadly, the video quality is not good - not on any version of this video that I know about. I don't think a high-quality version has *ever* been available. I did what I could to help it - mainly boosting the colors a little, and cropping the image for modern 16:9 screens.     • This is a remake of one of our first Videos. It features the spectacular Renault Mégane V6 Trophy Evo 3 of Joaquim Teixeira that raced on the Portuguese Hillclimb Championship between 2016 and 2018. Powered by the 420Hp Naturally Aspirated V4Y-RS engine tha is also used on the Formula Renault units, positioned right behind the driver, it is a pure race car delivering an incredible soundtrack. Spaceframed, weighing only 980Kg and with all power being delivered to the Rear Wheels through a 6-speed Sequential Gearbox, it is a delicate machine that posted quite impressive results while at the same time offering some difficulties to be used in Hillclimb Racing. In any case it is a spectacular Car and certainly difficult to match when it comes to its uniqueness. Now in Spain, we might have more news of it still in 2020...

    • This is an in-depth review of the 2022 Volkswagen GTI, delivered by a VW Fan with a closeup perspective on the previous Mk7 Golf. The Mk7 GTI might have no bigger fan than Jason Cammisa — and in this episode of Revelations, he explains why he thinks it's a better overall car than the new Mk8. This, after comically admitting that his house looks like a Volkswagen shrine. Being a fanboy cuts both ways — it can mean blind adoration for a new car based on the previous version, or it can result in unrealistic expectations. Perhaps both are true this time around. The Mk8 is quicker than the Mk7 (we include testing results) but the problems start with cost-cutting and questionable decisions that seem to prioritize gimmicks over substance. Things like the overwrought exterior styling, GPS-blocking cell-phone holder, or worse — the fact that the interior accent lighting is infinitely color-adjustable, but there's no illumination at all for the volume temperature controls; the two most-used secondary controls in any car. At the end of the day, it's the Mk8's UX (User Interface) that lets the car down, not its inherent greatness. The GTI greatness — speed, capability, everyday usability, packaging, efficiency — is all there.   • Check Out the New ASTON MARTIN V12 SPEEDSTER! | FIRST LOOK
    • This is Aston Martin's brand new V12 Speedster! A stunning open 2-seat hypercar limited to just 88 units at a cost of £765,000 each from the team at Aston Martin Q. The V12 Speedster squeezes the 5.2l Twin Turbo V12 from the DBS into a Vantage chassis, and will create a special driving experience as a result. What do you think? Visiting the home of Aston Martin in Gaydon, UK, it's almost a mini-motorshow with the new cars on display including the DBX from Q, new Vantage Roadster and the Valhalla sporting a new appearance in orange. The highlight to me though is of course the new V12 Speedster, a beautiful and incredibly limited model inspired by the F/A 18 Hornet fighter jet. Based on the chassis and platform of the new Vantage, the V12 Speedster also squeezes in the V12 making 700hp and 753nm which with the 8spd ZF auto makes for a 3.5s sprint to 100km/h (62mph) and a top speed of 300km/h (186mph). Visually it's striking, with additional openings for cooling at the front of an elongated bonnet and lack of windscreen. The seats are cocooned inside the cabin which itself is loaded with fighter jet inspirations. Behind the cabin sits the rear buttresses that house the carbon fibre helmets above a carbon fibre lined storage area. It's undeniably good-looking, but is there space in the market that's becoming congested with both the Ferrari SP1 and SP2 Monza, and McLaren's recently launched Elva? Time will tell.     • This is it. The last and arguably the best C7 Corvette ever made. With the mid-engine C8 looming on the horizon the wizards over at Chevrolet decided to throw everything at the existing C7 platform they could think of. That meant a 755-hp supercharged 6.2L LT5 V8, an aero package fit for a spaceship and of course a 7-speed manual gearbox that helps the ZR1 reach a top speed of 212-mph. So - is this the best C7 Corvette ever? You're damn right it is!

  • Ride in 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air
    • This is my 59 Bel Air. I am the second owner, and have owned the car since March 1978. I paid $75.00 for it, with 58,000 miles at that time. It is still mostly original, other than it has been repainted, by me, in 1984. Dashboard still has the factory original paint and gauges. Everything on the car works great. Options are, clock, deluxe heater, two speed electric wipers, AM radio,Tissue Dispenser, parking brake alarm...blinking red light in very beginning of video... EZI glass...tinted, rocker moldings, vent shades and license plate pocket guard...gas filler is behind license plate. The engine is a 348 cid 250 hp Turbo Thrust V-8, that has never been overhauled. It has a 4-Jet Rochester carb. The power steering is driven off the rear of the generator...yes it has a DC generator....not a AC alternator with diodes to change the AC to DC current. Power brakes are boosted by factory Bendix booster. Trans is a 3 speed manual and axle ratio is 3.36 to1. Driving it from Michigan to Georgia it got 18 mpg and used no oil.

    • This is my first Ferrari 599 SA Aperta I spot on the street ! It's painted in a beautiful metallic yellow (Giallo Tristato). It had a hard roof. I don't know if it fits in the trunk. The car is basically a 599 roadster but with a 599 GTO engine ! From the front, I can't tell the differences with a GTO. The drops of rain give the car a lot of charm when you look at the details... Enjoy !

STO stands for Super Trofeo Omolagata (Italian for homologation), as a fair amount of its go-faster technology in it is drawn from the car used in Lamborghini's Super Trofeo one-make racing series. The STO’s engine is probably the least changed thing about it. This is Lamborghini’s long-serving naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10, making the same 631bhp peak power that it did in the Huracán Performante. It is, however, rear-wheel drive only, and with a raft of other weight-saving measures it comes in at just 1339kg (dry), which is 43kg less than the Huracán Performante. Performance is electrifying. There's a full list of its figures below but on track our correspondent Mike Duff frequently saw cornering forces of 1.2g. At a price, is the fastest, most exciting Huracán ever made.     • This is the all-new BMW M3 Competition, 2021's hottest new super saloon. It packs a 3.0-litre twin turbocharged engine with oodles of power, with some 503bhp (metrically, 510hp) and some 479lb ft on tap. At the moment it's rear-wheel drive, which is all the better to use its 'M Drift Analyser' function (though there will be a 4wd version later). But the new 2021 M3 is no lightweight, at some 1725kg, which is otherwise known as 'quite a lot' for a BMW 3-Series. But still it can get from 0-62mph in 4.2sec and go on to a 180mph top speed (with the optional M Driver's Package). The car costs from £74,755. We are huge fans of the Alfa, which has no shortage of power itself, with its 2.9-litre V6 making the self same 503bhp (510hp) as the M3 but with a little less torque, of 443lb ft. But then, it has less to carry around, weighing in at 1580kg, a much more palatable figure for a compact executive saloon. As a result the Giulia Quadrifoglio can get from 0-62mph in just 3.9sec and it has a whopping top speed of 191mph. It costs £67,995. Which car will our testers prefer, though?   • New FERRARI SF90 XX Breaks Cover! First Look at Maranello's ULTIMATE Supercar
    • This is the brand new Ferrari SF90 XX! The limited special series, track version of the SF90 arrives as both the XX Stradale and XX Spider, dialling up the aero with a return of a fixed wing, lowering weight, and bring the Ferrari XX ethos to a production road go. Let's check it out! Ferrari have simultaneously launched the new SF90 XX Stradale limited to 799 units, and the SF90 XX Spider, limited to 599 units. It's been in the works for some time now, and as an owner of a 'regular' SF90 Stradale, this is one I have been looking forward to seeing. Last week, I was lucky to travel to Maranello for the private preview, to see the new cars up close, and my word are they impressive. Power lifts to a total of 1,030hp; with the 4.0l TT V8 now making 797hp (up 17hp) and the 3 electric motors making a total of 233hp (up 13hp) for a 0-100km/h (62mph) time of just 2.3s and a 0-200km/h (124mph) time of a measly 6.5s, before reaching a top speed of 325km/h (203mph). However, the dynamics have been significantly worked on with ABS EVO now introduced from the 296, Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer 2.0, and a new gearbox logic combined with a redesigned hot tube system for improved sound and exciting noises on shifts. Visually the car SF90 XX is dramatic, featuring a fixed wing for the first time on a Ferrari road car since the F50, which is part of producing a huge 530kg of downforce at top speed. This is combined with familiar Ferrari aero features like the S-Ducts in the nose, the vented louvres on the arches, and a new active gurney operating beneath the rear spoiler. It is the most extreme version of the SF90, a track car calibrated for road use and in fact the first XX model to be assembled on the Maranello production line. That experimental ethos to make the highest performing machine possible brings a road car closer to the track experience than ever before. To eliminate damaging crankshaft torsional vibrations, the engine’s power was taken from the middle of the cranks — sent to a traditional dogleg 5-speed transaxle driving the rear wheels. For decades, there’s been speculation that the engine was just two Ferrari V8s (from the 308 Quattrovalvole) or two Lamborghini V8s (from the Urraco P300) — but it’s neither. A total of 10 Cizeta V16Ts were produced — this prototype is the only one badged Cizeta-Moroder, as chief investor and famed music producer Giorgio Moroder pulled out of the venture before the production cars were built. Almost winning a comparison test against the Ferrari F40, Porsche 959 and Countach, its reviews were exceedingly positive. However, the man whose initials are spelled out "Cizeta" in Italian, cast a sometimes negative light on the car, becoming embroiled in a $150,000,000 lawsuit against Jay Leno. Not to mention all the parties who sued Zampolli — including his own lawyer, whom he double-crossed. It wears the largest turbochargers ever fitted to a production passenger-car engine. This flat-plane-crank V-8 is shared with the forthcoming 1250-hp, 2026 Corvette ZR1X and was developed alongside the Corvette Z06's naturally aspirated LT6. Cammisa's non-ZTK-package test car has the optional aero kit, but not the track suspension and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires from the Z06. Instead, it's wearing Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (PS4S) tires with a more livable suspension to take its place as the do-everything Corvette. And it starts with speed — through the quarter-mile, we recorded 9.8 seconds at 146 mph, making this (by a significant margin) the quickest two-wheel drive car we've ever tested. The ZR1 badge means "King of the Hill" in Corvette-speak, and was invented as a competition package for the C3 Corvette. In 1989, the 1990 Corvette ZR-1 debuted as the first to wear the badge — and was immediately called The Corvette From Hell. It was the fastest accelerating car in the land, and the second-fastest car you could buy in America. But it wasn't a one-trick pony, breaking records for lap times, lateral grip, and braking distances by using technology to improve its performance. Its 5.7-liter LT5 engine was designed by Lotus, built by Mercury Marine, and featured 4 camshafts and 32 valves — something no Corvette had until the LT6/LT7 Gemini twins in the C8. In this episode, we race the C4 ZR-1 against the mid-engine Ferrari of the moment, the 348 (and a Serie Speciale, to boot.) The performance wasn't even close — the Ferrari is a magnificent piece of engineering, but the Corvette beat it in every measure. 15 years later came the C6 Corvette ZR1, known internally initially as the Blue Devil. It featured a supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V-8 that made 638 hp. Once again, the ZR1 badge stood for bandwidth, meaning the ZR1 did it all: it once again broke records for handling and braking, and lap times to boot, with a Laguna Seca lap record set by our very own, SCCA Hall of Fame race-car driver, and cohost Randy Pobst. The C7 Corvette ZR1, which came 10 full years later, was born into a different time, where Ferraris had gained turbochargers and got serious about speed. The C7 ZR1 used the 6.2-liter LT5, supercharged to 755 hp, to keep pace with the newly turbocharged mid-engine Ferraris, specifically the 488. In trying to keep up, the C7 proved difficult to handle, and spelled the end of the front-engine Corvette. The C8 is an entirely different animal, and with its mid-mounted, flat-plane-crankshaft V-8 and mandatory dual-clutch automatic, closely resembles Ferrari's recipe. Which, now, Lamborghini is copying with the forthcoming Temerario. So, to all those saying the C8 is an American Ferrari, Jason suggests it's far more like an American Lamborghini — complete major power and brash looks. And besides, Ferrari has moved away, with the 296 GTB and GTS using a 120-degree V-6 in place of the high-revving flat-plane-crank V-8 that Ferrari invented. So how does the C8 ZR1 stack up?
