Logging only weekend miles since its complete, frame-off restoration, this top-of-the-line Chevy displays immaculate bodywork that simply glistens under our bright showroom lighting. A lot of time and effort was put into making sure this big cruiser was extremely straight, which resulted in chiseled sheetmetal that's completely wave-free. That time was well spent as better-than-factory panel gaps perfectly center hinged pieces which move freely and close with a solid thunk. And those thunks are bathed in a rich layer of correct Ermine White basecoat that's been sealed in a rugged clearcoat and buffed to a smooth shine. Powering this impressive sports coupe is a 283 cubic inch, era-correct V8 which wears a traditional 3756519 casting number behind a roster of correct equipment. At the top of that famous mill, a heavy duty, single-snorkel air cleaner forces oxygen into a large Magneti Marelli carburetor. Fuel and air flow from that proven 4-barrel into a factory iron intake that's bordered by factory Chevrolet heads and painted and decaled valve covers. Those valves send spent gases into correct, cast iron exhaust manifolds and a 2.5-inch, true-dual exhaust system that's characterized by a deep, vintage roar. That roar is the product of sparks sequenced from a familiar points distributor to trusted SuperMax plug wires. And those sparks are generated by pliable V-belts, which spin a modern alternator, a factory power steering pump and familiar Frigidaire AC components behind a correct fan and factory radiator. That engine's power flows to the pavement through a familiar Muncie 4-speed, which spins a rebuilt GM rear end. Holding that virtually unbreakable transmission off the ground is a restored double A-arm front and 3-link rear suspension. That suspension's handling is greatly enhanced by factory power steering and power drum brakes, which are piped to a fresh master cylinder and equally fresh brake booster. And at the corners of the car, 14-inch steelies spin 8.00-14 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls around striking Chevy center caps. Covered in a contrasting red sheen, this Chevy's correct interior has been restored to factory-fresh condition in virtually every way. The SS-specific front bucket and rear bench seats feel newer than the car's 52 years would suggest. At the front of those seats, a restored dash, which is chock full of rebuilt gauges, carries what appears to be an original Delco radio. At the base of that dash, a stylish, SS-specific console centers a chrome shifter in from of a small, lockable storage compartment. And in front of the driver, a chrome-trimmed steering wheel spins around a classic, column-mounted Sun tach. This fully sorted Super Sport is a wonderful car to drive, enjoy and haul three or four of your coolest friends in. The king of the C6 Corvettes, the ZR1 proved once again that the Corvette could punch way above its weight class, and strike fear in the hearts of supercars at twice the price. Nicknamed the Blue Devil, the ZR1 was the most powerful Corvette to date, with the 6.2L Supercharged LS9 V8 producing 638 horsepower. The ZR1’s top speed of 205 mph was only limited by the sheer amount of downforce that the car produced. It will tick off a 0-60mph run in the low 3 seconds, and polish off a quarter mile in 11.3 seconds at over 130 mph! Carbon fiber was used extensively in the production of the car and can be found on the hood and fenders where it has been painted over, as well as on roof and front splitter where the clear-coat finish allows the beautiful carbon fiber weave to be exposed. Enormous Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes are standard, as well as Magnetic Selective Ride Control that can adapt to changes in road condition in fractions of a second. This ZR1 came equipped with the 3ZR package that includes gps navigation, power telescoping steering column, custom leather wrapped interior, side air bags, Bose premium audio system, and power adjustable, heated, and leather trimmed seats. This particular example is presented with less than 9,500 miles, and is bathed in the subtle Supersonic Blue. It also features the factory optional chrome wheels.   • Volkswagen ID.4 First Look | VW's Compact Electric SUV

So, let’s look at it. First thoughts: The ID.4, which is built on VW’s MEB platform, looks like a Volkswagen SUV. And it also looks electric, what with that sleek shape. So, it’s pretty much what we’d expect…except as you look longer nuances start to emerge. The contrasting roof is nice. As is the upswept accent line on the side. Cargo space behind the rear seats is a competitive 30.3 cubic feet of baked beans. However, unlike many electric cars, the ID.4 has no cargo hold under its hood. Perhaps you’re wondering how well people fit inside the ID.4. Our 5 ' 10" tester Micah Muzio fit with plenty of room to spare, both in the front seats and in the back. Dimensions aside, the ID.4’s interior has a charming simplicity, highlighted by a central infotainment screen in standard 10-inch and optional 12-inch sizes, there’s a 5.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a nicely reconfigurable center console area. We dig the clean design but if it were me, though we wish VW had included a volume knob. Helping brighten the cabin are an available panoramic glass roof and a 30-color ambient lighting option. There’s also something called ID. Light, which, as advertised, is a light strip below the windshield that cues the driver to information about the vehicle’s driver-assist features, navigation directions, charge status, etc. It’s kinda like a low-information Head-Up Display. When in launches in the first quarter of 2021, the ID.4 will be sold in rear-wheel-drive form, using a single 201 horsepower motor (201hp, 228 lb-ft) and priced at $39,995. That doesn’t include destination charges, the federal government’s $7,500 tax incentive, or potential state incentives. VW will also lease you an ID.4 for $399 per month. The launch model is called the ID.4 Pro which might arouse suspicions for you that a cheaper ID.4 is in the works. And you are correct, a $35,000 version should arrive in 2022. Another late addition will be a dual-motor all-wheel-drive option that bumps power to 302 horsepower (302hp) and the price tag to $43,695. VW previously claimed a range of greater than 310 miles is possible with the ID.4 but at launch, the ID.4 will cover an estimated 250 miles (~250 Miles) with its 82 kWh battery pack. For charging that battery, 3 years of unlimited fast charging via Electrify America’s charging network is included in the purchase price. Finally, one last number. The ID.4 can tow up to 2,700 pounds. Lastly, while VW expects comparisons between the ID.4 and other electric vehicles, especially Tesla, their real targets are mainstream compact SUVs like the Ford Escape, Toyota RAV4, and Honda CR-V.
